The Heiress Nobody Saw Coming (Natalie and Marcus) novel Chapter 565

Kenton staggered out of the hospital, mentally going over everything that had happened. Not many people knew what Yvette had revealed.

No one from that room had left, and none of them had the power to set something like this up in such a short time. The only explanation was someone behind the one-way mirror had made a move.

And the only person who could've arranged everything that quickly—was Sheldon. Kenton couldn't think of anyone else.

But was he really going to confront Sheldon?

He walked out of the hospital, and the cold wind sobered him up a bit. It was obvious that Sheldon hadn't wanted Grace to pass peacefully. If Kenton were to go up against Sheldon, how much of a chance did he really have?

He thought about it carefully for a long time and came to one conclusion—there was none.

Sheldon had cared for Charles for so many years. His skill and capability were equal to none. Only, while serving Charles—who was kind and compassionate—Sheldon had never shown his sharp or aggressive side.

But now that Charles was gone, Sheldon had changed.

He only had one goal now, and that was to avenge Charles—to make every last person who hurt him pay the price.

Once Kenton calmed down, he didn't dare take another step forward.

Even if he questioned Sheldon, what could he do if Sheldon denied it? Or if Sheldon admitted it, what then?

So, though he knew the truth in his heart, he could only silently accept it.

Kenton sorrowfully looked up at the sky and wiped the tears from the corners of his eyes. He then pulled out his phone and logged into his account, opening his encrypted email.

In that inbox were records of every dirty thing he had done for Yvette over the years—every single detail.

He was never innocent to begin with. That was why he and Julie never had children.

Now that Grace was dead, even if things implicated her, Julie wouldn't suffer anymore.

As for Yvette and the others, who suffered unbearable pain and torment these past few days, they were finally due to enter prison.

But first, Kenton had to deal with Grace's funeral.

Kenton soon exited the encrypted email. After the Langley family went bankrupt, everyone they used to know avoided them like the plague. As a result, Grace's funeral would have to be held quietly.

Afterward, he would personally escort Yvette and the others to the police station and prison thereafter.

Kenton, calm again, turned and went back into the hospital.

Soon after, Grace's body was sent for cremation.

When Kenton held the urn in his arms, tears fell again. A living person's final destination was this small box.

All past grudges and feuds vanished once sealed inside.

"Grace, you'll see Megan up there," Kenton whispered, placing a small photo of Megan inside the urn. "Grace, it won't be long before I join you. The one person I owe the most in this life is Julie. But I've already divorced her, and the money I gave her is clean.

"We were both puppets, Grace. But that doesn't change the fact that we hurt people. Don't blame me for giving you a quiet burial. I couldn't hold a public one, you see.

"I'll ask someone I trust to retrieve Megan's ashes from Whitesand Isle and bury her next to you.

"As for that man—forget him. He hurt you, Megan, and the Jenkins family. But he's long dead. There's nothing more I can do.

"I'm sorry, Grace. I failed to protect you, and I failed to protect Megan."

Kenton's words made Victor, who was listening beside him, feel deeply uneasy. Ever since he found out he wasn't Grace's biological son, he hadn't been able to feel as close to her as before.
