Raylee continued to watch the sight of Mindy writhing in agony for a moment longer before she finally turned and left.

Four years ago, Mindy had accused her of stealing a necklace, providing false testimony that landed her in prison.

The cunning and ruthless woman had finally received her retribution with her face disfigured by sulfuric acid.

However, this was far from enough to quench Raylee’s thirst for revenge.

Compared to the torment she had endured in prison for the past four years, what Mindy suffered was child’s play.

Raylee clenched her fists tightly, a menacing glint surfacing in her eyes.

She would never let any of those who wronged her off the hook, be it Mindy, Waverly, or any member of the Goodridge family.

By the time she returned to Royal Court, it was already the dead of night.

However, the masked man was still in a meeting.

Lately, he had developed a habit of initiating video conferences in the middle of the night.

Is he really that busy? Is it really a business meeting, or is there another agenda to it?

Raylee was eavesdropping by the study room’s door.

“Leo, Maximus will be showing up at any given moment lately. You need to be careful and protect yourself.”

The woman’s voice stirred up a wave of memories within Raylee.

A while back, the masked man had traveled to East Aploth.

The woman who called him “Leo” over the phone, was indeed the bearer of this gentle voice.

Are they keeping in touch every day? What’s the nature of their relationship? When she asked the masked man to take care of himself, her voice was gentle and caring, just like that of a lover’s!

“Angela, notify me immediately if you have any further news about Maximus. That’s it for today; I’m going to rest now.”

After ending the video call, the masked man leaned back in his chair, closed his eyes, and massaged his forehead with a weary sigh.

So, this woman’s name is Angela. She must be quite capable if he has such deep trust and reliance on her! At the very least, she’s probably a capable assistant at work!

Raylee knew she shouldn’t be feeling this unjustified jealousy.

She quietly entered the study and, from behind, began to massage the masked man’s head.

“Why are you home so late? What have you been up to?” the masked man asked softly.

As she massaged him with her delicate hands, Raylee vented her frustrations, saying, “Don’t you already know everything I was doing? Plumpy is not just a bodyguard you planted by my side, but also your spy that keeps tabs on me, isn’t she?”

The masked man let out a wry chuckle. “How could you call it spying? I was just worried about you.”

“Suit yourself, then. It’s late; go take a bath. I’ll hold you while we sleep,” the masked man said, giving her small nose a playful pinch.

After a moment of hesitation, Raylee still couldn’t help but ask, “You’ve been having video conferences late at night recently, Are you discussing business matters? Who is Angela? And who is Maximus? Could you tell me about them? I want to know more about you.”

The masked man replied jokingly, “Why the sudden interest in gossip? Angela was my ex–girlfriend, and Maximus is her current boyfriend.”
