With tears welling in her eyes, Raylee shook her head.

“Don’t blame yourself. Whether you were here or abroad, you were always striving to save me. Still, I wished you would stay longer in our homeland, to spend more time with me. Considering my health condition, I’m not sure when the day would come that I’d suddenly breathe my last. In that final moment of my life, I hope to have you by my side.

The masked man released her, somewhat irritated as he pinched her cute nose. “I won’t allow you to say such things. I’ve made it clear that I’m going to save your life!”

“But life and death are beyond our control, you know? If I could decide, I’d wish for both of us to live until a hundred.”

Raylee sniffled, forcing back the tears that threatened to fall.

Right as the two were having an intimate moment, Plumpy received a phone call all of a sudden and exclaimed in shock, “Bad news, Mr. Foucault, Ms. Somers! Mindy has been kidnapped by the terrorists!”

“What? Wasn’t she captured alive by our men? How did someone manage to steal her away?” Raylee thought she must have

misheard.

How does an insignificant woman like her get repeatedly taken away by others! This world seems a bit topsy–turvy. What is going on here?

Plumpy then recounted the events that had transpired. “Because Mindy was seriously injured, I had her taken to the hospital for treatment.
