Chapter 54 The Great Escape
“That’s right, quiet down a bit. It will lessen our workload, and you’ll also suffer less. I’ve prepared some oatmeal for you. Now, be good and open your mouth so I can feed you”
“I’m not hungry. I won’t eat,” Raylee said, her voice weak and devoid of energy. “When will you let me out?”
“That’s a question for the doctor. We’re just here to ensure you eat and drink and take care of your basic needs. You have to eat, whether you want to or not. Otherwise, I won’t be able to fulfill my duties.”
Kaylee thought about the nasogastric tube that Neville had mentioned. After a moment of hesitation, she eventually opened her mouth to eat the oatmeal.
After finishing her meal, she sincerely asked, “Ma’am, could you do me a favor in private? I’ll pay you, no matter the cost.”
“What favor?”
“Help me reach out to Jeremiah from the Lorimer family. I’m his fiancée. I’m willing to pay whatever it takes just to get in touch with him.” Raylee pinned her hopes on the nurse.
“The Lorimer family? Which Lorimer family are you referring to? How much money can you offer me?”
The most prestigious family in Jexburgh and the owner of Lorimer Group – that Lorimer family. You’ve heard of them. right”
Upon hearing this, the female nurse sharply spat out in disgust, “What do you take me for, an easy mark? You’re out of your mind, boasting about anything and everything. You think you’re worthy of becoming a Lorimer family daughter-in-law? Looking at your skinny appearance, even the most desperate man from the backwoods wouldn’t marry you!”
“Ma’am, I’m telling the truth! Please believe me! I don’t remember his phone number anymore. Just drop a message at Lorimer Estate,” Raylee pleaded.
“Go to Lorimer Estate? You must be seriously delusional! Give it a rest. I see people like you every day. Let me tell you, I’m the daughter-in-law of a king! Hmph!”
The nurse left the room, grumbling under her breath.
Kaylee called out a few more times, but no one paid her any attention.
Right, this is a psychiatric hospital. Who would believe my words are truck
Her pleas for help were destined to fall on deaf ears.
Rayler blinked her red-rimmed eyes.
How was she supposed to save herself now?
It seemed as though she had fallen into a vast abyss, her cries for help echoing unanswered.
Kaylee shifted her body slightly, finding herself bound by straps on her limbs. Only her head and shoulders had any degree of mobility. Her range of movement was severely limited.
She stared at the strap on her left hand. Suddenly, mustering all her strength, she jerked her head and shoulders toward it.
She had taken dance lessons for a few years when she was young, which had made her quite flexible.
To her surprise, she found that her teeth could reach the strap with that movement.
Perhaps this was her only chance to escape!
Deciding to take a risk, Raylee steeled her heart and started chewing on the strap.
Even until her gums started bleeding, feeling like countless blades were slashing across it, the binding strap had only

She cast a worried glance toward the door, fearing that if anyone were to enter at this moment, all her efforts would be in
vain.
She seized the moment, persisting in gnawing at the binding strap with her teeth.
The bindings were soaked with specks of fresh blood, and the throbbing pain from her teeth came in relentless waves, rendering her incapable of breathing.
Even so, Raylee remained steadfast, refusing to let go, her resolve unwavering.
By the time the strap finally loosened, beads of cold sweat dotted her forehead.
The restraint strap was already soaked through with fresh blood.
Raylee, however, didn’t care in the slightest. Her eyes reflected an unwavering determination, her mind focused solely on self-preservation!
After enduring several years of imprisonment, she had suffered varying degrees of torment. Her body was covered in countless wounds, both major and minor, to the point where even her bones and muscles had atrophied.
Bleeding from loose teeth was hardly anything to fuss about.
After swallowing all the blood that seeped from her gums, she began to use her free hand to untie the strap on her other
hand.
Before long, all four limbs were freed.
Raylee glanced around the room. It was sealed off on all sides, and the only window had been welded shut, leaving her with no option but to escape through the door.

She didn’t dare to waste a single moment, so she immediately went to the door.
After hearing no sound outside, she cautiously opened the door.
At that time, several patients were moving about in the corridor.
She tried her best to blend in, moving inconspicuously with the crowd.
However, she had barely reached the stairs when she heard someone shouting, “Oh no! The patient from Ward 2 has disappeared, and there’s blood on the bed!”
Upon hearing this, Raylee made a concerted effort to calm herself down and swiftly headed downstairs.
“It’s you! You’re the patient from Ward 2! Don’t move!” A nurse recognized her and immediately called for others to catch
her.
Raylee was comered into the furthest end of the corridor.
The security net here was conveniently under repair, leaving a significant gap.
Looking down at the ground far below, Raylee jumped without a shred of hesitation.
She would rather die than be trapped in this godforsaken place!
Falling from the third floor would either result in death or injury
