Chapter 62 Waverly Pleaded
After turning on the phone, Raylee saw several WhatsApp messages from Jeremiah.
Things happened after the missed meeting on Christmas Day, so Raylee hadn’t contacted Jeremiah for a while.
Currently, she was not in the mood to reply to his messages.
Feeling fatigued, she turned off her phone screen and lay on her bed. She planned to sleep until the break of dawn.
Raylee tossed and turned on the bed. She couldn’t get to sleep.
The thought of suffering in the psychiatric hospital while the Goodridge family was merrily celebrating Harriet’s birthday, filled Raylee with rage.
If given a choice, she would have preferred not to have been switched at birth. No matter how poor her biological parents were, it was her destiny.
She hoped never to have met the Goodridge family, so she wouldn’t have suffered the misfortune of being wrongly accused and enduring four years in prison.
The Goodridge family told her that she had traded eighteen years of wealth and prosperity for four years of imprisonment, which was a great deal.
How could she forgive a family that so blatantly twisted right from wrong?
She wanted to fight to the death with the Goodridge family for the rest of her life.
The following morning. Raylee and Vera were having breakfast.
Waverly showed up. She was barefaced. Her eyes were swollen like walnuts, and her dark circles were so prominent that she resembled a panda.
Evidently, she had spent the entire night crying without any sleep.
Raylee didn’t show Waverly any pity.
“What are you here for?” Raylee said coldly.
“Waverly, could you please stop looking so miserable? It’s unsettling to see first thing in the morning,” grumbled Vera.
!couldn’t control myself. I had a rough night and was unable to sleep. Raylee, can you forgive Samuel?” As soon as Waverly spoke, tears began to fall.
Knowing that she had come to plead on behalf of Samuel, Raylee interrupted Waverly, fearing she might blurt out the truth. “If you’re going to cry, do it at home. Don’t ruin our mood!”
However, Waverly didn’t care whether Vera was present or not.
She walked straight up to Raylee, shaking Raylee’s arm as she pleaded, “Raylee, Samuel didn’t mean to send you to the psychiatric hospital, he would never want you to become an idiot.”
“He had gone to confront the hospital director about your mistreatment with electroconvulsive therapy, Samuel has realized his mistake. He would make up for it.”
“Enough!” In a fit of rage, Raylee immediately slapped Waverly
Siwark!
The resounding slap landed, causing Waverly’s head to jerk to the side.
Vera’s face turned ashen, she couldn’t believe what she heard.

questioned.
“It’s not true, Grandma. Don’t listen to Waverly’s nonsense!” Raylee hurriedly explained.
Finished
Vera’s expression darkened. Overwhelmed with panic, Raylee quickly said, “Grandma, I wasn’t mistreated. I’m fine. Don’t listen to her baseless claims!”
“Since you claim you’re fine, why does your limp seem worse than before? Be honest with me, have you been abused?” Vera asked worriedly.
To avoid worrying Vera, Raylee had hidden her crutch upon returning home last night.
She tried her best to pull the wool over Vera’s eyes.
Yet, Waverly exposed the truth.
Kaylee wanted to keep masking the truth, but suddenly, Waverly rushed forward.
