The moment we stepped out of the elevator, Theresa pointed ahead like a little boss and called out to Sophia, "Mommy, this way!"
"Okay."
Sophia smiled back at her enthusiasm, though she was a bit nervous about the visit to Brandon's office.
It was prime working hours, and pretty much everyone was buried in their work. Tagging along with Theresa and Brandon into the office, she was bound to draw some attention.
Sophia wasn't exactly a fan of being the center of attention.
"Is it cool if we just barge in like this? Won't we disturb everyone's work?"
Sophia looked uncertainly at Brandon, "Maybe Theresa and I should just hang out outside. You go ahead and do your thing if you're busy."
"I'm not busy with anything right now."
Brandon said, turning to look at her, "Not used to it?"
Sophia nodded honestly, "It's a bit showy."
"Plus, you're the big boss. Walking around the office with a woman and kid during work hours... doesn't exactly scream professionalism."
Sophia added, feeling it might tarnish his image at the company.
"That's not a big deal."
Brandon reassured her, "But since you're not comfortable, let's not go in just yet. We can chill in the lounge for a bit."
He then looked at Theresa, "How about you give mommy a little tour first, is that cool?"
To Theresa, the concept of office and lounge areas was blurry—she thought the whole floor was Daddy's office. She didn't want to show off in the crowd; she just liked that mommy could come and go in Daddy's office as she did, so she was thrilled with Brandon's suggestion and nodded vigorously, "Yeah!"
With a wiggle, she was already wriggling to get down.
Brandon caught her vibe and let her down gently.
The moment her feet hit the ground, Theresa conscientiously came over to grab Sophia's hand, "Mommy, I'll show you around Daddy's company."
