He smiled, “You can’t be thinking you want to go back like this, right?”
“None of your business,” Chloe Malan said angrily. What a really bad day.
“I’m afraid your legs will get thinner and you won’t have the strength to kick me then,” he said kindly.
“None of your business.”
Aoba Hoyle shook his head. Those words had become her mantra. This woman didn’t know how to be more elegant. But thinking about it, didn’t he like her rudeness?
“Don’t be mad. I’ll give you a ride home.”
“No, thanks. I’ll get a taxi on my own.”
“Taxi costs money, but mine is free.”
Chloe Malan ignored him. She turned around but held back by him who had gotten off his car.
He smiled and said, “Fine. If you feel sorry, you can give me gas money. Oil is quite expensive now, it’s over eight yuan.”
“I have no money. I won’t and can’t get in.” Chloe Malan was about to be defeated. How could there be a creature like him on this earth?
Aoba Hoyle knew that the appearance of his mother had provoked this woman. Their relationship was easing up actually. And when they were moving towards better, his mother suddenly came and broke what little result he had worked hard for. And his relationship with her seemed to return to zero again.
He suddenly became stern. His usual grinning face turned serious, “I give you a minute. Get in by yourself or I’ll carry you in.”
In the end, Chloe Malan was helpless and followed him. She knew that he could do anything even they were on the street.
“You should have gotten in earlier. There was no need to waste our breaths,” Aoba Hoyle grumbled.
Chloe Malan didn’t want to talk and didn’t reply him.
But Aoba Hoyle continued to talk, “Auntie, I have disappeared for days was not because of my mother’s pressure. It was because my brother had asked me to do something. You can ask him if you don’t believe me.”
Something peculiar swept past Chloe Malan’s heart, but her mouth said, “You don’t need to explain to me.”
