The Meyer family's case was still under trial, and Alan just left Jiangcheng before getting the results, because he knew that karma is real. The final ending was what Finn deserved, which would not be different from his expectations, and he would not let anyone have the opportunity to escape from their destiny.
Annie seemed so excited when going home that when she was still in the car on the way to the airport, she could not wait to report the message to her grandparents.
While Olive just looked out of the window and looked absent-minded. Somehow, she couldn't ignore the fact that when she left the house, she happened to glance back and saw the old lady standing on the balcony on the second floor, who looked so lonely.
Thinking about it, Olive just felt that the old lady was quite pitiful, but she knew that she was a strong person who did not need anyone's sympathy.
"Have I gone too far by taking you to Luo city?"
Alan said, "What are you talking about? Since I promised you, I won't go back on my word, so you don't have to think too much."
He knew she was a person of principle and was not indifferent or malicious, so she could not do anything too much. He was just afraid that she would put too much unnecessary blame on herself.
Of course, he had considered things about his mom, but he also knew that it could not be dealt with soon. He did not believe that the old lady in Jiangcheng could stay alone. He was sure that she would come to Luo city sooner or later.
Annie, who was flying for the second time, didn't feel the novelty like she had for the first time. She just asked when she was fastening her seat belt, "Dad, there won't be any more bad guys on the plane this time, right? If there is, you have to tell me in advance, so that I can be a little prepared."
The last time she hadn't even shown her skills, and she was accidentally dazed by that bad woman, so that she let that guy who she disliked save her, causing her reputation to be damaged. Annie pouted and thought in her heart that he was the last one she wanted to marry.
Alan habitually stroked her little head, "Don't worry, there won't be any in the future."
They sat in the first class cabin, where there were not many people and was very quiet.
Olive got sleepy soon after she got on the plane, because these days, she had always been dealing with Mrs. Hoyle, which made her exhausted. This time, she could finally have a break.
"Mommy seems to be asleep." Annie said.
Alan pressed his fingers to his lips, signing to let Annie keep quiet, and then he reached out to a stewardess and asked for a blanket to cover Olive's body. After that, he stared at her face and thought about how difficult it was for her to deal with his mother while keeping a smile every day.
Olive didn't wake up until the plane landed. Annie mischievously grabbed a strand of her hair and tickled her nostrils. She woke up with a long sneeze and saw the enlarged and smiling faces of Alan and Annie in front of her eyes. When she glanced sideways, she saw walking passengers, and then she heard the standard voice of the flight attendant in the cabin announcement, reminding her that the plane had arrived in Luo city.
She stretched out two hands and grabbed Annie with one hand and Alan with the other hand, "Hmph, you two are playing tricks on me, aren't you?"
Alan said innocently, "I didn't do anything."
"Then it's you, you little troublemaker." Olive took her into her arms and kissed her hard, while her hands kept tickling Annie's body.
Annie curled up and dodged, giggling, "Daddy, help, Mommy's bullying me."
Alan laughed at these two lovely girls and said, "Okay, we should get off the plane, and your grandparents are probably waiting at home."
Olive stopped and loosened her grip on her daughter.
As soon as she was free, Annie quickly jumped out of the danger zone, smiled and ran towards the exit with her arms raised high, "Let's go home."
Alan could see that his daughter didn't have much love for her grandmother on her father's dad in Jiangcheng, but it wasn't her fault. The old lady's preference for boys and her refusal to accept Annie and Olive sincerely had pushed Annie away bit by bit. A child's heart was sensitive and Annie could clearly understood who was sincerely loving her and who was accepting her with other bad intentions.
Just after pushing their luggage out of the exit, they saw Peng waiting in the pick-up crowd, as well as Chloe, waving and jumping up and down as soon as she saw them.
"Olive, Annie, this way."
"What are you doing here?" Olive felt a little surprised because she had told Chloe to wait at home.
"Don't you wanna see me? " Chloe pouted and helped to take the small luggage bag from her hand, and Peng took it all over again.
Olive teased her, "Let me guess. You wait here because you eagerly want to see someone, right? But I'll have to disappoint you. Put away your longing eyes, and he's not on this flight."
A sharp burst of pain came from her naked arm, which made Olive even scream. Chloe really pinched her so hard.
"I was near the airport to do something, and I happened to run into Peng, so we came together to pick you up! However, you actually thought that I was waiting for someone else."
Olive laughed, "You're really not waiting for him?"
"Not at all, he told me last night he wouldn't be coming back to Luo city with you." She didn't miss him. Although he had told her to go to Jiangcheng to see him last night, she refused. She would never want to see that old witch.
