“Why didn’t you kill me? Are you reluctant?”
Ethan gasped for fresh air, his voice sounding as if it had been sanded.
“Do you hate me that much? Enough to want me dead?”
He touched the marks on his neck, his eyes full of hurt.
“Yes! I hate you! I wish you were dead!”
“You humiliated me, forced me,
How could I not hate you?!”
threatened my family, and now you’re imprisoning me.
“What did I ever do wrong to deserve this from you?!”
My angry fists continued to pound his body.

After our fight, Ethan seemed to become a different person.
He personally removed the iron chain from my ankle and no longer restricted my
movements.
He became attentive to every aspect of my life.
But I knew this was just visible restraints turning into invisible surveillance.
The chain that trapped me still existed.
I began creating trouble in various ways, constantly challenging his limits, wanting to see
how long he could keep up the act.
