Chapter 5
After the wedding photoshoot, Faye excitedly picked out evening gown.
Ethan watched Faye’s smiling face from a distance. This had always been his dream–marrying the woman he truly loved. Yet a fog seemed to hang over his heart, impossible to clear, disturbing his peace.
He took out his phone and opened his conversation with Olivia. The last message was from yesterday.
His warning that if she didn’t return home, he’d cancel all her credit cards.
She hadn’t replied.
For five years of marriage, she’d always been incredibly obedient: His commands were
always followed without question.
In fact, in five years, she’d never been gone this long.
Ethan irritably sent another message.
“What are you sulking about?”
Unfortunately, the message didn’t go through. A mark appeared–The message has been
sent, but it was rejected by the recipient.
Olivia had blocked him!
He angrily tried calling her, only to discover she’d blocked his calls too.

He said he disliked the smell of makeup, so she never wore it again.
He said he disliked his wife being in the public eye, so she obediently stayed in the mansion
for five years.
He’d given her his sub–card as compensation for sacrificing her youth, expecting her to spend lavishly like other wealthy wives. Yet surprisingly, in five years, she hadn’t spent a
cent.
Ethan’s mind became chaotic. Even when Faye emerged in a new gown asking if she looked beautiful, he merely nodded absently.
After selecting the gown, Ethan drove hurriedly back to the mansion.
Since Olivia refused to return, he’d put Faye in another house with servants and hadn’t
been back.
He thought that after two weeks without spending money, perhaps Olivia had obediently
returned.
For some reason, he felt an urgent need to see her–to see the face he had once looked down
upon.
He felt he was truly going mad.
But pushing open the gate and searching the entire mansion, he couldn’t find her anywhere.
The air smelled cold and unfamiliar.
