The Invincible Arthur Gardner novel Chapter 66

Benno stepped firmly on the accelerator, quickly leaving Arthur behind in his dust. His excitement was palpable as he thought about winning the rare car as a prize. He whooped with joy as he sped along, eager to finish the race and show off the new car to all the ladies.

Chuckling to himself, he exclaimed, “Hahaha, what a great day to be alive! This is the biggest prize race I've ever had, and I'm beating some amateur who can only look good in a fancy car.”

Benno continued to drive fast, even though he remained surprisingly calm. He still gave Arthur hope of catching up and even believed that Arthur might have collided with the guardrail and crashed.

"Hah! Completely ridiculous," he scoffed.

However, when he was around the corner, Benno couldn't believe his eyes: unexpectedly, Arthur's car had managed to overtake him from the outer lane.

"What the hell?! How is that even possible?!" he exclaimed.

"I'm driving at a high speed, there's no way he could overtake me like that!"

Benno felt a surge of irritation but quickly refocused himself, determined to overtake Arthur and secure his position.

"That rich guy really gets on my nerves," he muttered.

"He thinks he can beat me. I'll show him what a real pro driver looks like!" he declared confidently.

Benno stepped on the gas, pushing his car to its limit. He quickly narrowed the distance between himself and Arthur's car.

"I'll pass him at the next turn," he chortled, "just watch!"

"This is easy for a professional like me."

As they neared the corner, Benno demonstrated his professional driving skills, easily overtaking Arthur.

"Ha ha ha ha! It seems he really is just an amateur who luckily overtook me before," he cackled.

Benno was determined to not let Arthur overtake his car again, so he increased his concentration.

“I had given Arthur too much hope to overtake me. It was a huge humiliation, but that was only because I allowed myself to be caught off guard and underestimated him.” He thought to himself.

With this new determination, Benno quickly gained a significant distance from Arthur and raced away.

"He's merely an amateur; he's not even worthy of being compared to a professional racer like me."

On the one hand, Arthur was determined to close the gap between him and Benno's car, utilizing all of his resources. Though he hadn't unlocked the full extent of his driving skill, his high Mind level allowed him to focus intensely and make decisions in a fraction of a second.

[Let's go, Host! You can do it!]

“I think what you're saying is more distracting than encouraging, System!” Arthur replied.

Yet, Arthur was still adamant about not advancing to the next level of his driving skills.

Echo, Arthur's bodyguard, who was watching from the audience stands, stood up from his seat, his eyes widened in amazement.

"Our boss, how can he drive that well? This is beyond what a professional could say. I thought he wasn't human - he's a monster!" he said, shaking his head before glancing back at Alpha.

Alpha then smiled faintly and chuckled slightly. "I think he is a God in disguise," he said. "If not, he wouldn't have the beautiful angels by his side, right?" he added, chuckling again.

Echo looked surprised to hear Alpha's words. “Alpha, why do you dare to say those things? You're blatantly seducing God's beautiful angels. You have committed blasphemy!”

"No, I'm just kidding," Alpha replied, then stood up and bowed before Edna. “Ms. Edna, please don't report what I said to the boss," he pleaded.

Edna, still unable to process what she had just seen, snapped out of her trance. She turned to Echo and Alpha with a gentle smile.

"At first I thought Boss Arthur was my guardian angel," she said with a light laugh, placing the back of her hand to her lips, "but it turns out he's something even greater!"

Echo glanced back at Arthur's driving, which had quickly left Benno far behind.

"Wow, it doesn't look like it's human driving," he said in awe. "It's almost as if it's a super-intelligent AI. Even Benno had a hard time keeping up with our boss. He's incredible."

“I think following Boss will be an exciting journey ahead of us,” Alpha remarked. “There will be plenty of surprises along the way.”

"Yes, I'm lucky that Boss kicked me in the face that night," Echo replied with a laugh. "I'm in the front seat for the amazing things he'll do in the future."
