The Kiss that Sparked it All (Ellinor and Theo) novel Chapter 2717

After wrapping up another round of interviews, she would be ready to casually drop the news of their relationship to anyone who'd listen.

It was high time those other women realized that Nolan had someone of his own. They needed to measure up if they thought they could get close to him!

"Did you pick up those pastries I asked for?" asked Dahlia.

Sienna handed her a basket adorned with care. "Got them first thing—beat the sunrise to stand in line. Lucky I did, too; by the time the shop opened, they practically flew off the shelves!"

Dahlia smiled faintly as she peered into the basket at the delicate treats. "He's got a sweet tooth, which doesn't quite match his tough exterior, does it?"

"Not at all."

As they reached the entrance to the Harris Group's building, they opted for the anonymity of the underground passage to avoid prying eyes.

In the dimly lit parking garage, as Dahlia strode toward the elevator, she envisioned the day she'd walk through the Harris Group's front doors in broad daylight, confidently making her way to the CEO's office.

She found Nolan immersed in work, not even glancing up.

"Lucy, who let you in? Have you forgotten the basics of etiquette? Not even a knock at the door?" He stopped mid-sentence, surprised to see Dahlia's smiling face. "What brings you here? Weren't you tied up with interviews?"

"Interview's done. Came to see you," she said, extending the basket of pastries.

Nolan took it with a resigned chuckle, "I'm not a kid anymore. Why do you keep bringing me these?"

Nolan finally sighed in resignation. "Then rest here while I get back to my documents."

But before he could walk away, Dahlia dashed forward, wrapping her arms around him from behind.

"Don't be like this to me! I can't stand your coldness. Can't we go back to how things used to be?"

Nolan stood silent, one hand holding a pastry, the other clenched into a fist and said, "You know that was the past. Isn't it better the way things are now?"

A pang of pain flashed through Nolan's heart, uncertain of what to do with this woman who held on to yesterday.
