"Then just take them down. There are plenty of ways to handle this. Alright, it's settled then. Pick me up tomorrow."
"Sure thing."
After hanging up, Nolan let out a sigh. His relationship with Dahlia was closer than friendship, yet it always seemed to hover at the brink of something more. He knew he was still hung up on that one thing from their past. It seemed they were doomed to remain in this limbo.
Once the call ended, Dahlia's smile vanished as she turned to her agent with an icy demeanor.
"Is the paparazzi setup ready for tomorrow?"
"Everything's arranged, but are you sure about this? Mr. Harris will be furious if he gets snapped. He's managed to stay off the net so far..." Sienna hesitated. "Aren't you afraid this will push him even further away?"
"What do you know? You don't understand him at all. I need to force his hand. He's always one step forward, two steps back with me. I know he's still bothered by what happened years ago, but it's been so long! And a little publicity wouldn't hurt—it could actually boost my profile. By the way, what happened to that interview? Why hasn't the piece come through yet? How does that woman even get anything done?"
Sienna quickly responded, "New Blossom Press told me they wanted to show their dedication, so they've assigned a more experienced senior writer to your article. The handover just took a little extra time. Don't worry, they won't let you down."
Before heading home, Nolan received another message from his grandmother. He couldn't help but smile wryly. Ever since the marriage topic came up at dinner, his grandmother seemed determined not to let him forget, reminding him every other day.
If he had someone special, he wouldn't mind marrying at his age, but he didn't, and he wasn't about to let someone else tie him down.
Nolan didn't respond, his thoughts drifting to another person—Regina. They had met a few times, and each time, she was always early, waiting at the agreed place. Perhaps it was her professionalism.
As Nolan and Dahlia headed to the movie theater, Regina was deep into her investigation of the property developer. She was startled to find that the people behind the scenes were intricately linked with Madeline's family.
"Domingo Skinner? That name sounds so familiar..."
Regina felt she had encountered this person before. But given Madeline's delicate situation, Imogen had been cautious, never introducing her family to her.
Where had she heard that name then?
