The Lawyer’s Romance in Law novel Chapter 306

Chapter 306 Willing Donor

Suddenly, the door swung open, and in came a panting Amanda. The first thing she heard was her son’s cry. She too cried, and she ran to his bed, huffing and puffing.

Selina turned around. The sight of Amanda sent her into ecstasy, and she was at a loss for words. “Look who’s here, Aiden. Your mommy didn’t lie to you. She came.” An excited Selina shook the crying-boy.

The mention of his mother delighted the boy. He looked up, a smile curling his lips. His vision was blurry, but he could make out his mother’s outline, and it made him cry harder. It was a heartbreaking cry.

Amanda too shared in the sadness and joy, and tears fell down her cheeks without stopping. She approached the bed and pulled the boy into her embrace. With a trembling voice, she said, “Don’t cry, Aiden. Mommy’s here. Mommy’s here for you. I’m sorry, I was a bit busy, so I couldn’t come.”

“Mommy… Mommy… Don’t leave. Please stay with me. Mommy.”

“I won’t leave, I promise. I’ll be with you, baby.” Amanda held the boy, reassuring and comforting him for a long, long time. Eventually, the boy stopped crying and fell asleep. She took the boy in her arms and plopped down on the couch, her eyes filled with worry for him.

It’s only been two days. Why does he have so many bruises? Is his condition worse now?

Noticing the question in her eyes, Selina answered, “The doctor said his condition got worse. If he can’t get a transplant, he’ll have to go through chemo, or it’s going to get even worse.”

Amanda looked at Selina, her tears falling on Aiden’s face.

Elias was right outside, and he saw everything. His jaw was tense, his lips were pursed, and his hands were balled into fists. There isn’t a moment to lose. He left a while later.

Amanda never left the ward ever since she came. The boy clung to her for dear life, like she would leave the moment he let her go.

At the same time, Rosie was slowly regaining her consciousness.

Taylor had been by her side all this time. When Rosie opened her eyes, he sat up. “Rosie! You’re awake.”

“Taylor…” Rosie rasped weakly, and she coughed.

Taylor poured her a glass of water and held her up, then he fed her the water. “You’re finally awake. I was

worried sick.”

“Taylor…” Rosie didn’t bother keeping up the act. Elias had exposed her, so there was no point pretending to be mad anymore. Still, the public must not know about this.

You’re not mad, are you, Rosie?” Taylor could see that his sister didn’t look the least bit mad.

Rosie said nothing, but the silence was an answer in and of itself. She coughed again.

Silence reigned, and eventually, things got awkward, but neither sibling said a word. Both of them had things weighing down on their minds.

All of a sudden, Rosie blurted, “Is Elias really married? And he has a son?”

Taylor was reluctant to answer lest he agitated his sister, but in the end, he said, “Yes. That woman you saw back at home was his ex-wife. The boy needs a bone marrow transplant to live, but only our marrows match his. This is honestly karma. He chortled. “The irony.”

Rosie ignored everything he said, everything but two points. “Wait. She’s his ex-wife, and their child needs. a bone marrow transplant?” This is good for me. So, Elias is divorced, and his son needs a bone marrow transplant. Moreover, Taylor and I are the only matches. This must be divine providence.

“Yeah, why do you ask?”

“Nothing. Taylor, I need you to meet with Elias and tell him I want to see him. I have something to say,” requested Rosie.

A frown furrowed Taylor’s brow. “Is that a joke? Do you think he’s going to see you? He wants nothing to do with you, and that will never change. It hasn’t changed since the beginning. I asked him to look for you and he set up a whole haunted house just to spook you into showing yourself, but you want to see him? Are you mad? If you still love him so much, you’re better off mad.” He was speechless. What should I do with her? She’s beyond saving.

Rosie shrilly said, “Just go and tell him I will donate my marrow to his son.”

“What? He ditched you and pulled a wicked prank on you, and yet you’re going to help his son? Yeah, you’re mad. You should be taken back to rehab and stay there.”

Taylor was about to leave, but Rosic held him. “Please, you have to help me. Taylor. I want to see him, just this once. I promise I won’t ever ask you to do this again. I’ll deal with my problems myself, and I won’t ask anyone to seek him out for me.” Because this time. I’m sure I’ll win.
