The Lawyer’s Romance in Law novel Chapter 347

Chapter 347 Elias, I Am Going To Sue You

Amanda laughed scornfully and glanced at a shy-looking Stephanie. “Stephanie was also at Cloudview Hotel last night.”

Elias became more suspicious and stared straight into her eyes. “So? What then?”

Stephanie was now anxious after seeing that Elias seemed to know nothing about last night. Is he trying to deny his responsibility and feign innocence?

She became anxious and gripped the hem of her shirt tightly.

Amanda looked straight into Elias’ eyes and enunciated slowly, “Well, Stephanie claimed that a man slept. with her there last night.”

Elias’ eyes

widened abruptly, though it was unclear whether it was from panic or shock.

Amanda went on, “She said that the man was Elias Winters.”

Elias immediately denied it as soon as she finished speaking. That’s impossible!”

The words struck Stephanie as if they were from a giant hammer and she became dumbstruck.

Did he deny it? Why? He was the one who did it to me last night, so how can he deny it so decisively?

She couldn’t help but stand up and confront him. “Why won’t you admit it? You invited me to Cloudview Hotel and… How can you deny it? You even ordered breakfast for me. Have you forgotten about it? But how can you forget it? You’re merely reluctant to take responsibility for it, huh? Elias Winters, I never expected you to be that sort of person!”

Stephanie was close to tears now. Elias had actually denied everything without hesitation, acting as if nothing had happened the night before.

“What sort of person am I? I was at the hotel to attend a banquet, so where have I got the time to go see you? Besides, how could I know that you were at the hotel as well? You claimed that I invited you there, so where’s the proof?”

His questions shut her up.

Proof?

Stephanie did have it last night, but the chat history had mysteriously disappeared for some inexplicable reason. It was like everything had been a dream; however, it had felt so real and besides, the bloodstains on the bedcovers were proof enough. It had been her first time, after all.

Amanda crossed her arms and watched their confrontation as if she was a mere outsider. She felt that Elias wasn’t lying, but Stephanie didn’t look like she was either. That meant that someone had really slept. with Stephanie the night before, though it was unclear whether it was Elias.

Meanwhile, Stephanie was insistent that it had been Elias. Right now, they had to investigate this-why was the woman so adamant that it was him?

“I-I received your message last night and even checked it several times to make sure it was from your number. You sent me the room number. It was room 5022 at Cloudview Hotel, which is why I went there. You dragged me inside as soon as you opened the door, and then… How can you deny it? The waiter who served me breakfast this morning said it was from one Mr. Winters. Is it not you, then? How many people

with that last name can enter the hotel?”

Stephanie was close to losing it, her scalp tingling as she recalled the details of their entanglement which, Elias refused to admit to. What was she going to do now? Did she have to threaten him at gunpoint or fall to her knees to plead with him?

Elias watched how unraveled she was becoming and frowned. “Your story is pretty detailed, but I think

have been tricked. I will always admit to what I have done, but never to what I have never done.”

“Elias Winters! How can you treat me like this? It was you last night! You stole my virginity! Do you know how much it hurts? How can you do this to me?” She broke down in tears. If Elias refused to take responsibility, then what could she do? She didn’t have any proof.

Before Elias could say anything, Jack stood up angrily and shouted, “Enough! Shut up. Go back to your room! Don’t you think you’ve embarrassed yourself enough?”

“Dad, I wasn’t lying. It really was Elias. How can he deny it? I went to Cloudview Hotel and he was there too. How is that a coincidence? The waiter even said it was one Mr. Winters!” Stephanie grabbed hold of Elias’ arm, so frustrated that she was willing to die to prove herself right.

However, Elias pushed her away coldly. “It wasn’t me.”

“It was you! Elias, I am going to sue you. I’m going to accuse you of taking me against my will. How can you sleep with me but not admit to it? You sullied my innocence!” Stephanie stared at him, filled with hatred from how cruel he was.

However, he remained cold and merciless as he growled. “Go on and sue me. I’m not afraid since I have. done nothing wrong

“How dare you?!” She pointed at him angrily, unable to say anything else.

Jack stopped her before she went further. “What are you trying to do? Do you want this to be known to everyone? Do you not know who you have been gallivanting around with last night? If Crispin knows about this, do you think he would still want you? Shut up!”

Jack hadn’t approved of Crispin initially and had slowly convinced himself to accept the man, but now this had happened. If Crispin ever knew about this, it would be a whole other story if he was willing to marry Stephanie.
