The Lawyer’s Romance in Law novel Chapter 371

 Chapter 371

“I’m telling you, there’s no way we’re getting a divorce. Just carry on with the wedding, or I’ll make life a living hell for you. It has taken me a lot of effort to come this far, so I won’t allow anyone to get in my way!”

Stephanie sobbed and closed her eyes in despair. Am I going to spend the rest of my life like this? Why did I even fall in love with a poor man like him in the first place? Why?!

Unbeknownst to her, their first encounter was also part of Crispin’s plan.

Soon, it was the wedding day.

As Stephanie’s sister, Amanda naturally had to attend the wedding. Jack had requested Aiden to be a pageboy.

The young child was reluctant, but he eventually gave in to Jack after the latter persuaded him for a long

time.

Elias was also in attendance. Since he was only Amanda’s former husband, he didn’t have to come. However, he and Jack were business partners.

“Are they getting married just like this? I still haven’t come around to that idea.” Amanda was in a dazed state. After all that had happened, Stephanie was eventually marrying Crispin.

Elias picked up a glass of wine and scanned his surroundings. All the guests were people he was familiar with. Jack had invited most of the prominent business people, which went to show how much he prioritized the wedding.

All of them were smiling except for Stephanie. Presently, she was spacing out in the lounge.

The woman looked at herself in the mirror. There was no doubt she was beautiful with delicate makeup and a wedding dress. However, when she recalled Crispin’s evil nature, she felt disgusted.

Unfortunately, she didn’t dare to resist, nor did she have any idea what to do.

When Amanda entered the lounge and saw that Stephanie’s mind was somewhere else, she said, “The wedding will begin shortly. Are you ready to go out?”

Although the bond between them wasn’t strong, she was her older sister, after all. Moreover, she wouldn’t want to be a wet blanket since it was Stephanie’s wedding.

Stephanie turned to look at Amanda, appearing hesitant. She had a strong desire to ask for help, but she didn’t dare utter a word.

“What’s wrong?” Amanda noticed her anomaly as well.

“I’m fine…” Stephanie shook her head. So what if I ask for her help? She is no match for Crispin. After all, she is a frail woman.

Elias entered the lounge just then, but he didn’t spare Stephanie a glance, for he was there to look for Amanda.

“Your son is throwing a tantrum, Amanda. Please deal with him right away.” The man’s voice sounded loving.

“What is he doing again? Why is he causing a scene when he’s just a pageboy?” Amanda appeared helpless, for her son was getting naughtier as he grew up.

“Well, he’s gotten into a fight with another pageboy.” A smile formed on Elias’ face at that.

Amanda frowned and left the lounge at once.

The man was ready to leave as well, but Stephanie looked at him as if he was her savior. Elias is the only one who can save me now! Crispin is wary of this man. After all, he’s a nobody compared to Elias.

Just as Elias was about to step out of the room, Stephanie rose to her feet and lifted the hem of the wedding dress. Then, she approached the man and took his arm. “Wait a minute.”

Elias turned to look at her hands. Stay away from me.

There seemed to be a hint of disdain behind his gaze. Stephanie subconsciously retracted her hands and looked out of the door. Since there wasn’t anyone else around, she whispered, “Can you come in for a while? I need to tell you something. Please

“The wedding will begin shortly. You’d better get prepared.”

Elias had no intention of listening to her nonsense, but Stephanie dragged him into the lounge and closed.

the door.

“I’m about to tell you something very important! Don’t you want to know who framed you? It wasn’t Raymond. I’m telling you that it wasn’t Raymond! It’s someone none of us could’ve expected!”

The man narrowed his eyes. “Go on.”

“Raymond wasn’t the one who disguised himself as you and told me to go to the hotel. It was-”

Before she could finish her words, the door opened suddenly. Elias turned around and saw Crispin.

Upon registering Crispin’s presence, Stephanie hid behind Elias immediately. She appeared as if she had just seen a ghost in broad daylight.

Her action had undoubtedly enraged Crispin. He said with an insincere smile, “What are you two doing? Mr. Winters, legally speaking, Steph is my wife now. As such, I don’t think it’s appropriate for the two of you to stay in a room alone. It’ll be scandalous if word gets out. Moreover, you’re her sister’s ex-husband

“Do you want me to beat you up? Or do you want me to ruin your wedding?” Elias had no interest in listening to the man’s derisive words. He would give Crispin a punch to teach him a lesson if the latter crossed the line.

Crispin continued with a smile, “That’s some inappropriate behavior, Mr. Winters. You’re making me think something is going on between you two.”

The next moment, Elias punched him in the face. Instantly, Crispin’s cheek swelled, and blood streamed out from the corner of his mouth. It went to show how much force Elias used.

“Since it’s your wedding, I don’t want to make a scene. However, if you keep spouting nonsense, don’t blame me for going hard on you.”

With that, Elias turned around and left the lounge.

Meanwhile, Crispin didn’t stop him. He merely kept a smile on his face without a word, for he knew he was no match for Elias, at least for now. That was why he had to gain a footing in the Allegra Family first.

After the door was closed, Stephanie trembled uncontrollably, and her face was pale. She knew this man wouldn’t let her off the hook.

“I’m so disappointed in you, Steph.” Crispin wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and approached the woman.

A terrified Stephanie stepped backward. “Don’t come near me! Please! Don’t come here! There’s nothing going on between us!”

“I know there’s nothing between you two. Elias has no interest in you at all. Even if you stand in front of him without any clothes on, he won’t be interested.”

Crispin was fully aware that Elias loved women like Amanda, so there was nothing to worry about.

He reckoned that Stephanie had pulled Elias into the lounge to seek help.

Although it was the truth, the words hit Stephanie hard. Elias indeed didn’t love her at all.

Suddenly, Crispin clenched her chin forcefully. “What were you trying to tell him? Did you want to seek his help? Do you think he’s the only one who can save you because I’m afraid of him? You’re pretty naive, aren’t you?”

Stephanie was horrified by his hideous expression. She wanted to struggle out of his grip, but the man glowered at her and barked, “I’m warning you-stop pulling any tricks. Elias won’t save you. In fact, no one can save you. I won’t harm you as long as you’re obedient. You’re not my target in the first place.”

After leaving the lounge, Elias fell deep in thought.
