Chapter 372 We’re Equal, A
The wedding finally began.
The Wedding March sounded as Jack entered the venue with a smile. Only Stephanie hooked her arm around her father’s with a sorrowful expression. It was as if she was going through torture.
Meanwhile, Crispin was waiting for them at the altar. His smile was smug and insincere.
Amanda felt a chill running down her spine when she thought of what was ahead of Stephanie.
“Stephanie must be terrified now. She’s marrying a monster that she used to be deeply in love with.”
However, Elias showed no sympathy at all as he mocked. “She had it coming. I had told her about the nature of the man, but she assumed that I was merely sowing discord. I no longer want to be bothered by this matter, but this trashy man surely has some gall to frame me.”
Amanda asked doubtfully. There’s something I don’t understand. What’s the point of Crispin doing that? Stephanie is his girlfriend, so it’s only natural that he wants to do the deed with her. Why did he disguise himself as you and force himself on her, though? There’s no feud between you two, so, why did he frame you?”
Elias snorted. “Don’t you get it? Stephanie already started despising him and was trying to come up with a way to get rid of an obstacle like him.”
“What?!”
Amanda thought that the duo was deeply in love with each other. Stephanie previously wanted to elope with Crispin, so why did she stop loving the man out of nowhere?
Elias glanced at her and said seriously. “You’re her sister, but I’m your man and Aiden is your child. On the other hand, Stephanie has found a poor man. Do you think Crispin is comparable to me at all? It’s only natural that she’s sulky.”
Amanda was astounded, for she didn’t expect that was what was on Stephanie’s mind.
The man continued with a smile, “She wanted to get rid of the poor man, but Crispin certainly wouldn’t give up just like that. It has taken him a lot of effort to come this far, and he’s about to be part of the Allegras. Do you think he’d give up?”
Amanda finally understood everything.
“So, he pretended to be you and slept with Stephanie. Then, he shifted the blame to you and ruined her reputation so that she would be accused of betrayal. At that point, he could pretend to love her very much. and insist on marrying her to become part of the Allegras.”
Elias said, “Unfortunately, he revealed his true colors too soon. Stephanie found out the truth before the wedding was even held. He’s arrogant, but he doesn’t have the intellect to achieve his goal.”
“What should we do, then? It’s not like we can just let him become part of the Allegras,” Amanda couldn’t help but ask. As she looked at the smiling Jack standing in front of the altar, she was worried.
It was dangerous to let such a scheming man become part of their family.
“Crispin’s ultimate goal isn’t to become part of the Allegras only. I believe his ambition doesn’t stop there. Since he has the guts to commit so many atrocities, it’s not surprising that he intends to snatch your

family’s wealth away.”
“Shouldn’t we get rid of him right now, then?”
“I’m trying to collect evidence. Just tell Jack a little about it so that he won’t believe that brat entirely. That cunning old man has always been shrewd, but he can’t see through Crispin’s nature this time.” Elias squinted and looked at the married couple in front of the altar. Stephanie seemed to be on the brink of
tears.
Everyone at the wedding was cheerful and clapped their hands for the newlyweds. Only Stephanie gazed at the man beside her with a look of horror on her face.
Jack put her hand into Crispin’s and said, “Crispin, I’ll give my daughter to you now. She has always been willful, so I hope you’ll be more patient with her. I’ll treat you like my own son. I’ll be at ease as long as the two of you love and support each other. As her father, all I want is for her to be happy.”
At that moment, Jack found Crispin to be a decent man who was worthy of his daughter.
With tears threatening to stream down her face, Stephanie wanted to tell her father that she wasn’t willing to marry that man, but she didn’t have the bravery to do so.
Crispin gripped the woman’s hands and said to Jack, “Don’t worry, Mr. Allegra. I’ll make sure to take good care of Steph. As long as I’m alive, I won’t let her suffer any grievances.”
His words sounded sincere.
If not for the torment Stephanie had gone through as of late, she herself would have believed that the man would take care of her forever.
After a hectic day, the wedding finally ended. By the time they saw the guests off and returned home, they were exhausted.
Amanda and Elias were seated on the couch while whispering to each other, so no one could hear what they were talking about.
Aiden was sound asleep in the man’s arms, still clad in the custom-made suit, which made him and his father look alike. It was as if they were made from the same mold.
When Crispin and Stephanie stepped into the living room, Amanda and Elias stopped talking and glanced. at the newlyweds.
Stephanie looked like a sorrowful woman who was void of any vitality. She was like a flower that would wither at any moment.
On the other hand, Crispin appeared confident as he was finally part of the Allegras. He said with a smile. “What’s wrong, Miss Bailey and Mr. Winters? Why did you stop talking when you saw us? Have we interrupted you or something?”
Elias is merely Amanda’s ex-husband, so I’m the only son-in-law of the Allegra Family now!
