Chapter 373 Why Don’t You Stay Over Tonight? 

Amanda glanced at Elias. “Why don’t you stay over tonight? Aiden is asleep in your arms, so you can just take him to the bedroom.” 

The man frowned. 

Upon hearing that, Crispin was flustered, for he didn’t want to let the two of them remarry and Elias become part of the Allegras. That would put him in a dangerous situation. 

Sooner or later, Elias would eliminate an obstacle like him. 

“I don’t think it’s appropriate for him to stay over. He’s your former husband, after all.” 

Amanda rose to her feet and sneered. “I’ve never heard of a groom staying over at his father-in-law’s home on the wedding night. Don’t you have a home? You’re a man, but you didn’t even prepare a house for your wife. How do you have the nerve to stay at our house? What right do you have to criticize my ex- husband?” 

Crispin was rendered speechless while feeling aggrieved. 

There was no doubt he was poor. However, considering the property prices in Imperia, he could never afford one regardless of how hard he worked. 

That was the reason he wanted to marry Stephanie. If he was also wealthy, he would no longer have to suffer such grievances. 

Crispin’s mother was just behind him. When she saw her son getting jeered at, she barked, “You b*tch! What right do you have to scold my son? My son has worked hard to be part of the Allegras, and Steph is in love with him. Don’t you agree, Steph?” 

Stephanie closed her eyes, refusing to utter a word. Then, she turned around and went upstairs. 

“I dare you to scold me again! Are you planning on living off us? Your son moving into our house isn’t enough for you, and now, even an old bat like you is trying to stay with us.” 

Crispin retorted, “Miss Bailey, since you’re a lawyer, please mind your language. 

“Your mother is the one who should mind her language, Didn’t you hear she just called me a b*tch?” Amanda found the man deplorable. 

Meanwhile, Crispin took his mother’s arm. “Mom, why don’t you go and get some rest? I’ll talk to her.” 

“Don’t let them bully you, Crispin! It’s your home now, so she has no right to interfere in your affairs. She’s a divorcee, but she’s still unwilling to leave her parents’ home. She’s the shame of this family! You have to toughen up!” The older woman didn’t think there was a problem with her staying in this house. She even felt that the house would go to her son in the future. 

“Stop it, Mom! Please go to your bedroom!” 

Crispin sent her a signal, after which the older woman reluctantly returned to her bedroom. 

Amanda crossed her arms and scoffed. “Is that what’s on your mother’s mind?” 

Crispin held his fury in and turned around. “I’m sorry, Miss Bailey. My mom is a woman from a village, so she can be boorish sometimes. Please forgive her.”

With that, he whirled around and went upstairs as well. 

He knew that things would only get worse if he stayed there any longer, but he didn’t have the power to go against the two of them. It’s only the beginning. Just you wait! 

After the man was gone, Amanda sat back down on the couch. “Did you see that? He’s revealed his true colors.” 

“So, do you really want me to stay over tonight?” Elias was most concerned about this question. 

“Yes, of course. Since a sc*mbag like Crispin can stay here, why can’t you?” 

A smile formed on his face. “I’m only your ex-husband, so it’s inappropriate for me to stay over.” Amanda narrowed her eyes at that. “Do I have to remarry you before I can make you stay?” 

“I didn’t say that, but it’s alright if you want to see it that way.” 

Suddenly, Amanda straightened up and said seriously. “Do me a favor. If you can kick Crispin out of the Allegra Family, I’ll remarry you.” 

Although she had come up with a request, she was also helping herself out of this awkward situation. 

She had been pondering and observing this man for a long time. She came to the realization that she still. loved him, so she wanted to give it another shot. 

However, a startled Elias only stared at her with his dark gaze, for he didn’t expect the woman to say that. 

Noticing his silence, Amanda thought that it was all her wishful thinking. As such, she looked away in embarrassment. “It’s alright even if you don’t want to remarry me. I was just saying. You don’t have to take it seriously. You were quick to divorce me back then, anyway.” 

When she recalled the moment Elias divorced her in the past, she felt an invisible hand twisting her heart. 

The man placed his hand on the back of her neck and locked lips with her. Amanda’s disbelief. 

Is he out of his mind? Our son is still around!
