Chapter 498 You Should Hate Me
“Let her in.”
“Yes.”
Elias looked at the executives in front of him and said, “The future of the company relies on all of you for the next half month. If there’s anything, call me. Alright, you can go back to
work now.”
The office door opened, and one by one, the people left. Then, Rosie walked in, holding a thermos in her hand.
“Elias, I see that you’ve been busy with work lately and not getting enough rest. So, I made some soup for you. Have some. I won’t take up much of your time. I’ll leave once you finish.”
He slowly stood up and walked toward the reception area. Then, he saw her open the thermos and pour a small bowl of soup on the side.
The man sat expressionlessly on the sofa, not even glancing at the bowl of soup in front of him. Instead, he looked at her and said, “You don’t have to do this. The Winters‘ chefs are hired to do such things.”
“But it’s different. I made it myself…”
Before she could finish her sentence, the man interrupted her, “I don’t need it. Besides, I’ll be going abroad for half a month.”
“What? Why?”
“That’s my business. I don’t see why I should tell you anything.”
She fell silent after hearing his blunt dismissal.
Then, her heart turned cold once again. Why couldn’t this man fall in love with her not matter what she did? She could only get a little bit of tenderness through hypnosis. Even so, it would disappear in an instant.
“Elias, why are you always so cold to me? What did I do wrong…”
“You didn’t do anything wrong. I know you’ve been good to me, and I know what you want. But I’m sorry. I can’t give it to you. It doesn’t matter what has happened between Amanda and me. I am still her husband. As for whether that child is mine… I want to verify it myself”
“You still won’t leave her even though Amanda has betrayed you and deceived you?” Tears welled up in Rosie’s eyes.

Unfortunately for Elias, he would get a headache whenever a woman started crying before him. So, he pinched his brow and patiently explained, “Of course, I won’t ever bother with a woman who has betrayed me, but… It doesn’t matter what the outcome of my relationship with Amanda will be because it won’t affect us. We are only suitable as siblings, not as lovers. I don’t have any feelings for you. Do you understand me?”
Rosie’s heart sank as if she had fallen into an abyss.
It was clear and hurtful, as if she had been given a death sentence. It was impossible for him. to ever love her.
Tears welled up in her eyes. “Elias, why? Can’t we be together even without Amanda’s meddling? Can’t feelings be cultivated? Why is it impossible for us?”
She truly didn’t understand what she lacked compared to Amanda. Just why couldn’t she capture this man’s attention?
“To put it gently, we’re not compatible. To put it bluntly, you’re not my type. I’m telling you right now that it won’t change anything, even if you get plastic surgery. So, I’m sorry.”
After saying that, Elias stood up and went back to his desk, grabbing his suit jacket. “I have another meeting to attend. You can leave on your own later or have my driver send you home.”
Rosie looked at the soup she had spent three hours cooking. Yet, the man left without even tasting a single spoonful.
Tears continued to roll down her cheeks, but she had no expression on her face because her heart had died completely.
She had done so much. In fact, she even went as far as to portray Amanda as a kidnapper. Yet, Elias still refused to love her.
How ridiculous.
Suddenly, her expression turned somewhat sinister as she muttered to herself, “Since I can’t have him, I’ll destroy everything. What I can’t have, you, Amanda, can forget about having
Let’s go to hell together!
All of you can forget ever having a happy ending!
“It’s nothing. I finished my work and came to see you on the way.”
