Chapter 535 Mr Winters Is a Good Husband
Amanda began to feel a bit hesitant. She regretted agreeing to this meeting and thought she appeared petty.
Someone had saved her husband’s life, and now she was about to question their intentions. It felt inappropriate.
Just then, the office door was pushed open, and Jean, the secretary, entered with Casey.
“Mr. Winters, Miss Carter is here,” Jean announced.
“Alright, please prepare a cup of coffee for Miss Carter,” Elias instructed.
“Of course.”
Jean exited the office and closed the door behind her.
With Jean gone, the two women finally had a chance to take a good look at each other.
Amanda sized up Casey, who was indeed beautiful, with striking features and a captivating demeanor. Amanda hadn’t seen such a stunning woman in a long time.
Casey, on the other hand, was shocked and somewhat panicked when she saw Amanda.
She’s the woman Symeon talked to outside the kindergarten! He was only words away from confessing his feelings to her. So, this is the woman he likes, who also happens to be Elias’ wife?!
Casey’s mind went blank. She had promised Symeon that she would help him pursue this woman, but how could she do that now? Elias was her savior. How could she ruin his happiness? That wouldn’t be right! She would be punished by the heavens!
She felt completely incapable of carrying out her promise.
The atmosphere in the room became tense. Elias remained silent, and Amanda felt that Casey’s presence was enough to ease her worries.
She could tell that Casey was a sweetheart. So, she decided to break the ice and stepped forward, extending her hand to Casey. “Hi, Miss Carter. I’m Amanda, Elias’ wife.”
Casey, still in a state of shock, couldn’t snap out of it for a while until Amanda called out to her again, saying, “Miss Carter? Are you okay?”
She turned to look at Elias as if to say, “Have we frightened her?”
Elias wore a slight smile while speaking in a deep voice, “Miss Carter, my wife just wanted to

get to know you. There’s no other intention behind this meeting, so please don’t be afraid.”
Casey finally regained her composure, feeling embarrassed. “Um, I… I’m sorry. I was just lost in thought. You’re very beautiful, and I feel like I’ve seen you somewhere before.”
She reached out and shook hands with Amanda.
Amanda raised an eyebrow slightly and said, “Really? Well, it’s not surprising. We all live in Imperia, so it’s possible we’ve crossed paths before. Please, have a seat, Miss Carter.”
At that moment, Jean brought in three cups of coffee and placed them on the coffee table. She then smiled and left the room.
Casey took a seat on the couch and watched the sweet and affectionate scene between the Winters couple across from her. She suddenly felt overwhelmed with guilt.
“I wanted to thank you. My husband had a car accident a while back, and he hasn’t fully recovered yet. He fainted this time, and it was thanks to you that he was taken to the hospital. Otherwise, I don’t know what might have happened.”
Amanda smiled warmly, and Elias, watching his wife’s profile, couldn’t help but smile too. His Mrs. Winters knew how to handle social situations, and the fact that she hadn’t made Casey uncomfortable indicated that she had let go of any suspicions.
Casey had been watching Amanda closely and replied, “It’s okay. After all, Mr. Winters also. saved my life once.”
“Oh, by the way, I heard that it was because of Mr. Lawrence that you were in trouble last time. Do you have any connections with Mr. Lawrence? Why was he bothering you?” Amanda inquired, wanting to understand the relationship between this woman and Symeon. Symeon didn’t seem like someone who would resort to violence against a woman without
reason.
Obviously, the couple had completely forgotten what Mary had said about Dulcie’s biological mother when they were abroad, so they had no idea that the Casey before them. was Dulcie’s mother.
“I… I don’t know him, and I have no idea why he would treat me that way.” Casey replied. She had no intention of revealing the bizarre events that had transpired since she herself hadn’t fully comprehended how she ended up with a daughter and a man in her life yet.
She couldn’t help but find it somewhat amusing that she and Symeon had both developed an interest in the Winters couple. What an odd situation it was.
“That’s really strange. I know him to some extent, and I didn’t think he had a penchant for mistreating women. It’s quite despicable,” Amanda mused, lost in thought.

Casey felt uneasy hearing that. She had expected Amanda to reject any association with Symeon, but instead, she had acknowledged it. Moreover, Elias seemed oblivious to any affair between Amanda and Symeon, making her feel even more awkward for him.
“Mrs. Winters, do you really know Mr. Lawrence? Are you close?” Casey asked deliberately, trying to nudge Elias, who remained expressionless, into action.
Amanda smiled gently. “We’ve met, but we’re not very close. His daughter and attend the same kindergarten, so we’ve crossed paths a few times.”
