The Lost Luna Princess novel Chapter 5

　　Angels POV

　　  ‘BEEP BEEP BEEP’

　　   I opened my eyes just as my alarm went off and yawned soo hard it literally hurt my face.

　　  “What are you yawning for you’ve slept for fourteen hours solid?” Star’s voice echoed in my mind as she stretched out.

　　  “Not only is it 7.30am but we had an intense sparring session yesterday remember, it wiped me out”

　　  Star is my wolf and first thing in the morning she has attitude, not that I can moan I’m just as bad or so Aunt Marie likes to tell me, but I don't mind as she says my dad was exactly the same. I’m seventeen years old and I will be turning eighteen in a couple of weeks which means I’ll be able to find my mate. We are supposed to get our wolves when we turn sixteen and that’s also when we shift for the first time but for some reason, I got mine when I was ten. Not that I'm complaining as I don't know what I would do without my partner in crime. My wolf is white just like the purest of snow, she’s beautiful with Icey blue coloured eyes which were ever so slightly brighter than my own.

　　  "Well thank you, I guess you’re not so bad yourself"

　　  "You really are a vain wolf Star" I chuckled whilst rolling my eyes at her sarcastic response.

　　  The only problem is I can’t shift around anyone other than my Aunt Marie and Uncle Nick. The reason for this being the colour of Star’s fur would give away my identity as the Princess of the royal pack, and from what I’ve been told that would be incredibly bad. The thing is being a werewolf Star wants to constantly go for a run. She loves the feeling of the earth underneath her paws and the way the wind blows through her fur. Her favourite spot is just at the bottom of the mountains at the edge of the Moonlight Packs territory; it’s at least three miles away from the town. At first, I thought it was because of how beautiful and peaceful that place seemed but lately I think it’s because of the wolf we often see in the small river at the bottom of the mountain waterfall.

　　  “I just get this vibe when he’s near or when we see him even if it is at a distance” Star defends herself in my mind.

　　  “Maybe he’s our mate” I told her in a teasing tone whilst shrugging my shoulders.

　　  Truth is we wouldn’t know for sure, not unless we saw him once I turned 18 and let me tell you I could not bloody wait.

　　  I had dreamed of finding my mate ever since I was a little girl. Aunt Marie had told me about the mate bond and how much my parents loved each other, how that love was possible because of the Moon Goddess. The Moon Goddess created all werewolves, and she was the one that would pair us with our mate, that way there was someone for everybody a perfect match making us whole. A true love just like a fairy tale. Aunt Marie had told me that my parents love was one of the strongest loves she had ever seen and that I was a gift because of that. I don’t remember my parents as I was only two when they died but the way that Aunt Marie and Uncle Nick described them in the stories, they would tell me really made me feel like I knew them. I mean truly knew them.

　　  I knew how far my dad was willing to go to protect my mum and the rest of the pack. That my mum died protecting me just as my dad had died protecting his pack. I knew what I wanted, and I knew I wanted my mate to be like my dad.

　　  “Fearless, strong, compassionate and kind” said Star in my mind while I silently agreed.

　　  "But don't forget about being handsome and having a good sense of humour" I said earning an eyeroll and a chuckle from Star.

　　  After breakfast was another day of training, Uncle Nick insisted I be ready for the day I take back the throne of the royal pack. As I have alpha blood, I’m stronger than a lot of wolves, and because I’m a she-wolf with this extra power my slim toned build allows me to move quicker giving me even more of an advantage.

　　  “Can you at least put more effort into your punches Uncle Nick” I’m getting fed up with how easy this is I want a challenge.

　　  “Believe me Angel I am putting all I have into this; you’ve completely tapped into your heightened strength well done hun”
