The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 123

Sitting on the familiar couch and listening to Abigail's sharp questioning, my thoughts drifted back to the past.

Back then, Abigail's life and career had hit rock bottom.

The death of her parents had left her devastated, and the company's shareholders were onto her like predators stalking their prey. She was lost and afraid, yet she had to force herself to be strong and deal with those issues.

Whatever sadness and hurt she had suffered back then, I would have to suffer many times over. Right now, all that suffering felt like a cruel joke to me.

I said nothing, merely watching her in silence.

However, she seemed to have lost the interest to continue speaking. Instead, she sat beside me and started using her phone.

On the screen played a video taken in this very office. It showed her begging me on her knees to stay. Then, after I walked away, it showed her in utter despair, crying every day.

In the video, her tears fell endlessly, soaking large patches of her clothes.

In fact, she cried so much that she passed out, and her assistant had to call an ambulance to take her away.

I lowered my head, feeling that the scenes were too unbearable to watch. I wanted to just run away.

However, Abigail did not give me that chance. She gripped my chin and sneered mockingly at me as she said, "Samuel, these are all the things I went through. You probably didn't know any of this after you left, did you?

"Since you're clueless, I'll let you watch it clearly this time. Why did you run away? Why are you afraid to watch?"

Her barrage of questions made my heart race, and even my breathing became labored.
