Although Patrick claimed to be visiting me, his words were laced with sarcasm and ridicule.
I chuckled and asked, "Could it be that the great Mr. Jameson is here to ask for my help with something?"
Patrick shot me a malicious look, his eyes filled with disdain.
"Back then, you managed to win the heart of the campus belle. I thought you two would live happily ever after. It turns out to not be the case after all. For someone like you who's dumped his girlfriend just because she was poor, you getting sick is purely karmic justice."
Faced with Patrick's ridicule, my heart was unusually calm. I knew there was more to just mocking me for his sudden visit.
Hence, I looked at him and asked indifferently, "What do you want?"
Patrick stared at me coldly and said, "I'm here to tell you to quickly divorce Abigail and to stay away from her. Do you hear me?"
"Oh?" I was amused by his demand, and I couldn't help but laugh. "You want me to stay away from her? What gives you the right to make that demand?
"From what I know, your name isn't even on the list of men Abigail's been involved with lately. You can't even hold her hand, yet you're here to threaten me?"
As expected, my words hit their mark. Patrick's face darkened instantly, his expression grim.
He huffed and replied arrogantly, "I'm her company's supplier now. I handle all her company's supplies! We'll have more chances to interact in the future. If you stay away, I'll surely find a way to win her over! As for you?"
Patrick gave me a derisive once-over, his gaze filled with scorn and ridicule as he shook his head. "You're not even worthy to stand by her side!"
