I returned Joshua's greeting with a silent nod.
Seeing this, Joanna was clearly displeased. She frowned at me and snapped impatiently, "Samuel, are you mute or something? Joshua has just greeted you. Are you blind, or are you just incapable of speaking? Why didn't you respond to him?"
Her unreasonable outburst left me exasperated, unsure of how to even reply.
It was my home that they had barged into without my consent, and as if that wasn't bad enough, they acted like they were the owners instead, demanding that I greet them.
This was nothing more than them taking advantage of Abigail's endless indulgence and tolerance toward them to shamelessly insult and bully me.
However, I had no intention of entertaining them. I merely glanced coldly at Joanna and said, "Oh? And why exactly should I have any obligations to acknowledge you two?"
"You…"
She was livid. She pointed at my nose and cursed at me angrily, "Samuel, who the fuck do you think you are, acting all high and mighty in front of me? I'll have you know that you're nothing but a pathetic loser and a waste of the air we breathe! You should've died a long time ago! Why don't you just drop dead already?"
She continued, "Let me tell you something, Samuel. Sooner or later, you'll be kicked out of this house. No matter how long you stay here, Joshua will eventually throw you out!"
Joanna's tirade of insults was relentless.
I couldn't help but scoff. Then, I shook my head as I mocked, "Oh, really? I'll be waiting for that day, then. At least for now, I'm still here, and you guys don't have what it takes to kick me out."
