The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 251

George's words instantly yanked me out of my fantasies and back into reality.

I smiled and said, "I'm fine, really. You don't have to worry about me. Nothing's wrong."

George wasn't entirely convinced, but after hearing my response, he decided to let it go.

"Alright. As long as you're okay. Just don't make me worry about you," he said with a sigh, his voice heavy with resignation.

After a moment, his frustration bubbled over. "I mean, seriously, Abigail is way out of line. She knows how you feel, and yet she still lets Joshua make such a scene!"

I had no idea what had happened between Joshua and Abigail at the hospital, but George's tone dripped with displeasure and anger.

Joshua's tricks were all too familiar. He'd put on that manipulative, innocent act just to draw Abigail's attention. What else could he do? Absolutely nothing.

As I recalled Joshua's past "brilliant" performances, George's irritation seemed to deepen. He fumed, "Isn't Joshua supposed to be some minor celebrity?"

"It's bad enough that he has no self-respect and doesn't care about his career. But why does he have to ruin other people's families and destroy their happiness?" he asked.

George's words, full of indignation on my behalf, were laced with disdain and fury toward Joshua.

I sighed helplessly, unsure how to explain it to George.

To me, Joshua didn't care about his future at all. The only thing he cared about was clinging to Abigail. She was his golden ticket to becoming her official husband and inheriting her wealth.
