The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 252

After Abigail left, I finally had a rare moment of freedom.

In the afternoon, I was in the guest room, searching for inspiration and writing a few sets of lyrics.

Just as I was about to send the lyrics to Hanson for his feedback, a car horn suddenly blared outside, followed by the sharp sound of high heels clicking on the pavement.

As that familiar sound drew closer, my whole heart tightened involuntarily.

Why was Abigail back so soon? According to my calculations, she should have been held up by Joshua and unable to get away. How could she have returned home so quickly?

In the past, even if Joshua was just slightly injured or coughed a few times, Abigail would immediately appear by his side, tending to him meticulously for days.

Did something happen this time? Or did Joshua do something foolish and cross an unforgivable line, making Abigail lose interest in him? Or could it be that Abigail was simply a fickle person who had finally grown tired of him?

As these thoughts swirled in my mind, Abigail pushed the door open and walked in. She was holding a bag of fruit. She waved to me gently, smiling warmly as she said, "Look what I've brought you."

I stared at her, momentarily dazed. For a brief moment, my mind drifted back to the past.

Back when we were still in love, whenever Abigail returned late from work or a business trip, she would always bring me my favorite snacks or a small gift.

Seeing me enjoy what she brought always seemed to sweep away her exhaustion.

Even though she brought me my favorite things again, I felt nothing.

Abigail walked up to me. Her eyes softened as she said quietly, "Here's something for your late-night snack. If you get hungry later, you can have some."
