The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 268

I tried to be polite when I spoke, but I sounded distant. I wanted to make it clear to Blair that we were in public and it was inappropriate for her to be so clingy.

However, she didn't seem to care. She looked joyful as she walked up to me, reaching out to take my hand. Instinctively, I took a step back, putting some space between us.

Blair looked slightly hurt, but she still smiled and said, "Samuel, I finally get to see you. You've been avoiding me, and it has made me really sad."

Her words dripped with feigned innocence, as if she had no idea why I was avoiding her.

I gave a faint smile and shook my head. "Ms. Shepherd, please don't get me wrong. I wasn't avoiding you on purpose."

"Oh, really?"

Blair wasn't willing to give up. She took another step closer, her expression shifting into one of grievance.

"Then why didn't you answer my calls? Why wouldn't you meet me for a meal when I invited you? Why didn't you open the door when I came to your house?" Blair took a step forward with every word she said, closing the gap between us until I had nowhere left to go.

I was slightly angry as I looked at her. "What are you trying to do?"

Blair was on the verge of tears as she stared at me. It was as if she would pounce on me at any moment.

Appearing upset as she looked at me, she said, "I just want to know why you're avoiding me."

There were already quite a few people around us who were staring at us repeatedly.

Not wanting to be the center of attention, I lowered my voice and said, "Follow me!"
