The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 271

The matter between Joshua and Abigail had nothing to do with me. I had no interest in hearing about it, let alone caring about it.

Abigail and I got along by not involving ourselves in each other's lives. We would continue to pretend to be a loving couple in front of outsiders. I would do my best to cooperate with her to put on this show.

As for what she wanted to do with her life, that wasn't my problem. I didn't want the matter between us to be blown out of proportion. It wasn't good for either of us.

And the last thing I wanted was for Blair to bring this matter into the open and humiliate me.

Blair felt deeply aggrieved, and as she spoke, tears streamed down her face. With an indignant look, she shook her head and looked at me as she sobbed. "Please don't treat me like this. I just want to keep you company and be with you. The more you push me away, the harder it is for me…"

Her words sounded more like a threat.

I didn't know how to respond. All I could do was look at her calmly and say softly, "Please be reasonable. We're just not right for each other."

I thought I'd phrased it politely enough.

Even if Abigail and I divorced, I would never rush into another relationship. It would be irresponsible to both Abigail and myself.

I really didn't know what to say to Blair.
