The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 314

Sophia didn't come out and say it, but I could tell from her expression exactly what she was referring to—that photo.

I chuckled softly, brushing it off like it was nothing. "It's not a big deal, Sophia. You don't need to worry about me."

She pursed her lips and shook her head, clearly unconvinced.

"How can you say that? Just recently, Joshua was making a big show of denying any connection to Abigail. She even told everyone that she wanted to leave all the drama behind and focus on you to fix things. And now this? What's she trying to prove?"

The frustration in her voice was unmistakable. Sophia didn't hide her disdain for Abigail's behavior. But as much as I appreciated her concern, I knew there was nothing she—or anyone—could do to change things.

I gave her a resigned smile and shrugged. "It doesn't matter. I've gotten used to it."

Hearing that only seemed to make her more upset.

She bit her lip, her voice softening as she looked at me with concern. "But how, Samuel? How can you just let this slide? Joshua's doing this to provoke you, plain and simple. He knows exactly what he's doing."

Her hands clenched into fists on the table. "And with his huge following, if this blows up, it's your reputation that's going to take the hit, not his. It's not fair!"

I met her gaze and shook my head, my voice calm. "I've already made peace with it, Sophia. If he wants to stir things up, let him. It's not worth my energy."

She stared at me, her concern deepening, and for a moment, she looked like she wanted to say more. But she didn't.
