The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 386

After leaving the restaurant, Sophia became increasingly worried.

She nervously approached me and lowered her voice, asking, "Samuel, what should we do? Joshua saw us, and he'll definitely exaggerate the whole thing in front of Abigail! I'm worried Abigail will cause trouble for you once she hears about this…"

Sophia suddenly looked regretful. She shook her head and sighed, "I shouldn't have asked you to come out with me today. I never expected something like this to happen."

I smiled gently and reassured her. "It's fine. This isn't your fault at all. Those people were deliberately causing trouble, that's all. Don't blame yourself."

Sophia looked at me with lingering concern. "But how are you going to explain this to Abigail?"

I chuckled softly and shook my head. "Don't worry, Abigail won't be mad at me over this."

After I reassured her again, Sophia finally stopped worrying too much. I saw her safely back to the company and took a quick walk inside before grabbing a cab home.

To my surprise, I saw Abigail's red Rolls-Royce parked in the yard. The moment I saw the car, I knew I was about to face a storm.

I pushed open the door and walked inside. The house was eerily quiet; not even a light was on.

I turned on the lights and changed into my slippers. Before I could head to the guest room, I saw Abigail sitting on the living room couch, her dark eyes fixed on me.

With a cold expression, she asked, "You're back?"

"Yes."

I nodded but didn't say much. Just as I was about to go upstairs, Abigail suddenly stood up. She grabbed my arm and stared at me with a serious expression.
