The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 51

When I started college and had just begun my relationship with Abigail, she had a close friend who constantly tried to break us up.

That friend of hers accused me of being a gold-digger and kept calling me a kept man with ulterior motives.

However, Abigail never believed a word of it. She defended my dignity firmly and stood by me unwaveringly.

I was deeply moved by her trust in me and devotion to me, and I never once thought of leaving her.

She invited me to her friend's birthday party one day, intending to break the ice between me and her friend.

Although I couldn't recall exactly what her friend looked like, I still remembered how awestruck I was when I saw her friend's house for the first time.

It was a luxurious manor with an expansive courtyard surrounded by trees and flowers.

They were all reportedly imported at a great expense.

Her friend dismissed my gift as cheap and called me a kept man in the most humiliating way when she saw me.

It was her father who had eventually stepped in to defuse the situation, reminding her that we shouldn't judge others through a biased lens.

Therefore, I remembered his face and name vividly.

He was none other than Miles, the man standing before me now.

A shiver ran down my spine as a realization suddenly dawned on me.

Miles and Blair shared the same last name.

"Hello, please have a seat." Miles treated me with courtesy and gestured to the chair before signaling his secretary to pour me a cup of tea.

"Blair's secretary is quite well-known in the industry. He recommended you to me when he learned I wanted to release an album for Blair. So, I had him reach out to you on my behalf.

"I didn't expect your talent to be this remarkable. Blair mentioned that you created those two songs within ten minutes. You truly have a gift for this craft."
