The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 71

Abigail's expression was full of resentment, and her breathing was heavy as she glared at me with fury. She said through gritted teeth, "No way, Samuel. I'm not letting you go. You're my husband. Don't even think of running away from me!"

Her words made me laugh coldly. I looked at her calmly, then asked pointedly, "Abigail, did you forget about the line of people waiting for your attention? Especially Joshua? You keep telling him to clear up those rumors, but you're still secretly seeing him, aren't you?"

"I…" She hesitated, trying to find the words to say. "It's not what you think."

I shook my head, laughing bitterly. "Not what I think? Then tell me, Abigail, what am I thinking?"

She went silent, unable to answer.

I laughed mockingly, shaking my head. "Nothing but empty words, huh? You put on this act, and these lies—you might be fine with them, but I'm exhausted. Don't you feel tired of pretending?"

For once, she didn't respond to my accusations. She just looked at me intently, then declared, "I won't let you go. Don't even think about it. If Joshua bothers you so much, then I'll tell him to stay away from you."

I laughed derisively. Seriously? She would say anything to keep me around, no matter how twisted.

"Come on, we're going home," she said firmly, grabbing my arm and leaving me no choice but to follow.

I shook her hand off with disgust. "Go where exactly? To your place with Joshua? You might be fine with that, but I'm sickened."
