The Mighty Mage novel Chapter 53

Chapter 53: Chapter 53: Elders of Alchemy Tower

Seeing the blue ball with black gas, Gu Jin knew that it was an Unyi.

Gu Jin was confused. Was the Dark Fire also a naturally awakened element? Otherwise, it wouldn’t have a Unyi, right?

Ignoring her doubt, Gu Jin started cultivating her Dark Fire Element.

Next Day.

Gu Jin skipped school and went to the Alchemy Tower.

The Alchemy Tower was a huge modern building with a beautiful interior. The place looked executive and luxurious.

She was in her Su Jin disguise.

"Hello, I am here to take the test." Gu Jin said to the reception lady.

The reception lady stared at Gu Jin and asked,

"What is your name and tell me the level for which you want to test."

"Su Jin. Apprentice Peak Level."

"For how long have you been studying Alchemy basics." The reception lady asked while putting Gu Jin’s data.

"4 years." Gu Jin replied.

She didn’t want any unnecessary trouble. If she told the receptionist the truth that she had been studying alchemy for only 6 months then either she would shake the entire Alchemy Tower after her results were out, or she would be accused of lying, or worse she couldn’t even get a chance to enter the Alchemy Tower.

The reception lady nodded and led Gu Jin to one of the rooms.

After taking the test, which was a written paper, Gu Jin easily passed.

Looking at the out of the score, the reception lady asked,

"Have you joined any Alchemy Organisation?"

"Nope. By the way when I will get my batch?" Gu Jin asked.

The reception lady looked at Gu Jin with shining eyes and said,

"Just wait for a few minutes."

The reception lady called someone and soon 3 elderly mages came downstairs.

Gu Jin instantly had a bad feeling and indeed she heard the 3 elderly Mages saying,

"Where is the genius you were talking about?" An elderly person in a blue robe had a long blue beard, no hair, and a fair skin tone asked.

He was certainly very unique looking.

"Hey, Old Xiang, don’t you dare try to snatch away my disciple!" Another elderly person in a red robe, who had a red beard, a somewhat dark shade skin tone, and a friendly aura said.

"Old Fan, of course I dare! That genius has not accepted any of us as his master, so how come he will become your disciple."

The third elderly person, in the green robe, remained silent, observing the banter between the other two elders with a serene expression.

His long, flowing green hair gave him an ethereal appearance, and his piercing emerald eyes seemed to hold wisdom beyond his years.

Suddenly he noticed Gu Jin and walked toward her,

"Are you Su Jin?"

Gu Jin’s lips twitched and even though she was having a bad feeling in her heart she nodded.

"Let me introduce myself, I am Wu Xin. People here call me Old Wu. I am one of the elders of Alchemy Tower. I heard about your exceptional performance, have you really only studied alchemy for 4 years?"

"I am sorry."

Then without looking Gu Jin turned around and ran away.

The atmosphere in the Alchemy Tower turned cold.

Old Xiang asked in a serious voice,

"Did you see it?" frёeweɓηovel.coɱ

"Hm." Old Fan nodded his head thoughtfully.

Old Wu withdrew his suspending hand.

Old Xiang placed his hand on his chin and asked,

"Say...is she a heiress thrown out of a famous clan because she was once declared a good-for-nothing?"

Old Wu shook his head,

"No, she is guarded. Her heart is cold. To the point that she trusts no one. To the point that she is cautious at every step she takes.

You didn’t see but I saw it, the instinct of survival in her eyes. The hunger to live but at the same the emptiness...as if she wants to prove that she can live on her but she doesn’t want to live at the same time."

Old Xiang and Old Fan felt a bit suffocated and both of them turned their face away.

If Old Wu was saying it then it was true...but if it was true then they can’t imagine what that girl has to face to be like this.

.....

Gu Jin ran away from the Alchemy Tower.

She didn’t know for how long she had run before she finally stopped at a point and sat down at the side of the road.
