“Emily Leventhorpe, let me make it clear. If I hear any rumors tomorrow at the academy about you and Finley, you’re in big trouble. I don’t like my man being associated with rumors about other women.” 

Emily lowered her gaze in response, and a fleeting glimmer of anger flashed across her eyes. D*mn you, Samantha, why can’t you stand seeing others do well?! You’re so freaking annoying! I’m simply using Mr. Dean’s name so that the students don’t bully me anymore. What’s wrong with that? It’s not like I’m going to kill him! Have you ever considered my situation before saying such words to me, huh?

Emily kept her head bowed, silently cursing Samantha. Samantha, noticing Emily’s silence, made no attempt to speak further and quietly sat in the back, fiddling with her phone. 

Soon after, they arrived at Dean Residence. Samantha got out of the car, and Emily, eager to see Finley, followed her into the living room. “Sam, could you wait a moment?” she called out pitifully. “I have something to say.” 

Since Samantha was engrossed in her phone, she hadn’t noticed Emily following her. Hearing Emily’s sudden call, Samantha stopped, turned around, and said coldly, “Who gave you permission to come in?” 

Emily bit her lip, appearing as if she had been wronged by Samantha. “I didn’t mean to intrude. I just…” 

Noticing Finley descending the stairs, Emily let her tears stream down her face. “I just wanted to apologize for just now. I’m sorry that my oversight led to the students finding out about my relationship with Mr. Dean. I’m truly sorry, Sam. If any bad news comes out on the academy forum tomorrow, I’ll make sure to clarify. I won’t let your relationship with Mr. Dean be exposed, and I won’t let anyone misunderstand the nature of my relationship with Mr. Dean.” 

Emily’s words implicitly suggested that Samantha was a woman of questionable character, desiring Finley but unwilling to give him a proper title or let the public know about their relationship.
