“Everything you and your mother did to me all those years ago, I will make you both pay back. Double.”
Amy clenched the fabric of her clothes tightly, her eyes filled with hatred as she glared at Samantha. “You witch! You’d better have your lawyer drop the charges and get my mother out of jail, or I swear, I won’t let you off the hook.”
Samantha looked at her with pure disgust and then pushed her aside without a second thought. “Amy, if you dare speak to me like that again, if you keep talking to me like that, it won’t be you not letting me off the hook–it’ll be me who won’t let you off.
“You want my lawyer to drop the case against your mother? Sure, I’ll consider it–if you get on your knees and beg me. If you’re sincere enough, I might feel a little soft–hearted and let your mother go. How about that?”
This was the academy. Samantha demanding her to kneel was clearly meant to humiliate her in public.
Amy wasn’t about to fall for it.
“Samantha, I will never do that!”
“Fine by me,” Samantha replied mockingly. “If you don’t get on your knees, then your dear mother can stay in prison. Honestly, I think prison suits her well. After all, mistresses belong in dark, dingy places. And what’s darker than a prison cell?”
Hearing Samantha repeatedly call her mother a homewrecker made Amy’s hatred flare even more. She grabbed Samantha by the collar, her voice trembling with rage. “Samantha, this is the last time I’m going to say this. Tell your lawyer to let my mother out, now!”
Samantha let out a cold laugh. “And what if I say no? What exactly do you think you can do to me?”
“Samantha! Don’t push it too far!”
Samantha sneered. “Amy, if you’re that worried about your homewrecker mother, then you’d better get on your knees. Like I said before, if you get on your knees, I might consider letting her go. If you refuse, she might as well settle into that prison because she’ll be there for a long, long time. Simple as that.”
It was a blatant, shameless threat.
“Samantha, how can you be so cruel? What did I ever do to you? Are we enemies now? Is that why you’re treating me and my mother like this?”

Enemies?
Samantha sneered. Her hatred for Amy ran far deeper than mere enmity–it was a grudge that cut to her very core. In her past life, she could never forget the wrongs done to her. She would make sure that both Amy and Noah paid for everything they had put her through.
