Even if someone sees us, so what? It’s not like I’m actually strangling Amy. If she can push me, why can’t I fight back?
This world didn’t operate on such fairness.
With a look of disdain, Samantha shoved Amy aside. Amy collapsed onto the ground, gasping for breath as she glared up at her with hatred. “Samantha! You’ll regret this one day. I’ll make sure you do!”
Me?
Samantha’s face twisted with mockery. “We’ll see who ends up regretting this. We’ll know soon enough, Amy. But right now, I don’t have time to waste on you. Get out of my sight, now!”
With that, she turned on her heel to leave. Amy scrambled to her feet and ran after her, grabbing her arm to stop her.
“Samantha, I told you–if you don’t get my mom out of jail today, you’re not going anywhere. Call your lawyer right now! Tell her to release my mother! Do it, now!”
Samantha stared at her, a cold smile spreading across her face. “You want me to call? Is that it?”
Amy nodded furiously. “Yes!”
“Fine. I’ll make the call.”
Samantha pulled out her phone from her bag and dialed Sidney Caffero’s number. The call was quickly answered. She said, “Mr. Caffero, I heard you put Amy’s mother in jail?”
Sidney assumed she was calling to reprimand him for taking matters into his own hands. He quickly explained, “Ms. Wallace, I just wanted to help you get some justice. And I didn’t make up any charges–everything is backed by evidence. So, you don’t have to worry about that woman suing you.”
Samantha chuckled. “I trust you to get things done, Mr. Cafferò. It’s just that Amy is here bugging me to release her mother, and it’s giving me a headache. She’s being incredibly noisy. I was wondering if there’s any chance you could send her to jail as well?”
Standing nearby, Amy was waiting eagerly for Samantha to instruct Sidney to release her mother. But when she heard what Samantha said, her eyes widened in shock Staring at Samantha as if she had gone mad, Amy yelled frantically, “Samantha, what are you doing? I told you to get my mother out, not to send me to jail! Are you deaf? Can’t you understand

Sidney, overhearing Amy’s outburst, calmly replied, “Ms. Wallace, I just heard Amy verbally attack you. I could press charges for verbal assault.”
