Elias let out a long sigh. He could tell how set she was on this. “Fine. If you really want to go, we’ll go. To clarify, you can’t wander off or cause any problems. I don’t need extra headaches for me or Finley.”
“Got it! I’ll be on my best behavior. No trouble, I promise,” Emily promised quickly, feeling relieved. She thought, I’ll do whatever as long as I get to go.
Satisfied, Elias agreed, and they headed to the meeting.
Inside the meeting room, the atmosphere was calm but tense. Executives from various firms sat patiently in their seats, waiting. Sitting beside Samantha, Finley turned to her and asked, “Hey, feeling hungry? Do you want something to snack on?”
Samantha thought briefly before replying, “Actually, I could go for some dessert.”
Finley smiled back. “Okay, hang tight. I’ll grab some.”
Samantha simply replied, “Sure.”
A few minutes later, he returned with an assortment of cakes and set them down before her. “Pick whichever one looks good.”
Samantha beamed. “Anything from you is good enough for me.”
She grabbed a piece of matcha cake, tasted it, and then surprised everyone by offering Finley a bite. He didn’t hesitate to take it.
“How is it?” she asked with a grin.
“Pretty good,” he replied, smiling back.
“Here, try this one too,” Samantha suggested, feeding him a slice of mango cake. The two of them quietly shared the cakes for a bit. Afterward, she yawned and leaned into his arms. “Finley, I’m getting sleepy.”
“Then rest here for a bit,” he replied, wrapping his arm around her.
“Mhm,” she murmured, already snuggling up and closing her eyes.
The executives couldn’t believe what they were seeing. Wait, isn’t our CEO the guy everyone calls ugly? Now, here he is with this stunning girl who clearly adores him. Maybe those gossips are just nonsense. No one’s ever seen him without his mask; who knows what he actually looks like under that mask?
