Samantha’s gaze remained steady as she addressed Noah with a forced smile. “You may not be that old, but how is it that your hearing is already failing you? Didn’t I make myself clear? Finley is a man of integrity. Since he’s willing to invest 50 billion dollars to secure this deal, you must also match that amount to acquire the contract. If you’re considering backing out, simply adhere to the pre–bid contract’s compensation terms. Finley granted me only half an hour, and that time is nearly up. I’m leaving now. Reflect on it carefully, and once you’ve made your decision, contact Finley directly.” 

Noah stood there, speechless.

With a resolute expression, Samantha rose from her seat, turned on her heel, and walked away. Noah, his frustration evident, hurried after her and grabbed her arm. “Samantha, I haven’t finished speaking! Why are you leaving? Besides, Finley isn’t like other men–he’s special. I can see that Finley has deep feelings for you. All you need to do is threaten him. Tell him that if he doesn’t comply with your demands, you’ll leave him. I’m confident that, no matter what, he’ll agree to your terms.” 

Noah’s imagination knew no bounds. 

He dared to suggest threatening Finley. What did Noah take her for?

Disgust flashed across Samantha’s face as she withdrew her arm from Noah’s grasp. “My greatest flaw is that I’m incapable of making threats, especially against those I care about and who love me. With that final declaration, Samantha turned on her heel and walked away. 

This time, Noah didn’t attempt to stop her. He understood that even if he tried, it would be futile. She had firmly decided–she was done helping him. 

He would have to find another means to resolve his predicament.
