Chapter 128 Spilled Milk
Peyton could hardly contain her joy. “Fay! You look so beautiful! Absolutely stunning!” she exclaimed.
She hadn’t been there during Freya’s glory days, but she had stood by her side through some of her darkest times. It felt as though Freya had finally reached the end of her struggles.
Peyton embraced her tightly.
A collective sigh of relief filled the room.
Clearly, the surgery had been a success.
However, a peculiar expression crossed Dr. Guillermo’s face. He gestured to Nathaniel, who immediately understood and followed him into the adjacent office.
Nathaniel shut the door behind him, muffling the sounds of others congratulating Freya.
He took a seat in the office and asked, “Is there something you need to discuss?
Dr. Guillermo replied. “I need to talk to you about Ms. Gomez’s left hand.”
Nathaniel instantly tensed up and sat upright.
Dr. Guillermo, feeling defeated, looked at Nathaniel and admitted, “There’s nothing I can do to restore her left hand.”
“What did you say?” Nathaniel exclaimed, springing from the couch.
Dr. Guillermo stood up and walked over to a cabinet, retrieving a folder. It contained X–ray images of Freya’s left hand before and after the initial surgery.
He handed them to Nathaniel with a heavy heart.
It was a doctor’s worst nightmare, to give everything and still be unable to help a patient.
Dr. Guillermo explained, “She sustained a comminuted fracture when her hand was injured. The worst part is that she didn’t receive medical attention during the golden hour. The wound likely became infected, and the bone wasn’t reset. The subsequent treatment she received was inadequate.
“There’s no way to fix it now. I’ve done my best to make her hand look… well… aesthetically pleasing. but there’s no way to restore its function. She might be disabled for life.”
Nathaniel turned pale, his emotions spiraling. He roared. “What do you mean? I’ve invested a fortune in your lab. And all you can tell me is that you can’t do anything?”
He lost his composure, rushing forward and grabbing Dr. Guillermo by the collar.
The doctor managed a bitter smile and said, “I’m sorry, Mr. Morgan, but there’s nothing I can do. No one can help her, but you can choose to replace her hand. Even then, the outcome might not be ideal.

“Shut up!”
Nathaniel was livid. The thought of Freya’s left hand being replaced by a piece of metal was
unbearable.
Dr. Guillermo continued. “Mr. Morgan, do you know that her hand was broken with a sharp instrument? If you’re angry, you should seek justice against the person responsible.”
Nathaniel’s face turned deathly pale.
