Chapter 189 What Have You Done?
Alexander’s reputation had plummeted dramatically due to recent events. Having just established himself in Sacville, it was inevitable that he would encounter some difficulties.
Nathaniel pondered the situation, yet he couldn’t discern who in Saeville harbored such animosity towards both of them.
It wasn’t until he noticed Freya, with her impassive countenance, that a possibility dawned on him. If it had indeed been Freya, she had certainly become more cunning.
He glanced at the red marks on Freya’s neck, the ones he had inflicted, and was instantly consumed by rage. He was at a loss for words.
“Freya, explain yourself!” he demanded.
Freya offered a bitter smile, her gaze meeting Nathaniel’s. I collaborated with my colleagues in the design department to create the initial draft.”
“Had Alexander not interfered, the first version would have sufficed. There would have been no need for a second iteration.”
Nathaniel’s face turned pale. “Go on!”
Freya inhaled deeply. “The second draft was merely a whimsical sketch, never intended for submission. I didn’t believe it would be suitable, given its artistic nature.”
“City planning would likely benefit from more conventional designs. That’s why I kept it to myself.”
“I won’t act impulsively anymore, Mr. Morgan. I promise to consult with you on all future matters.”
Nathaniel’s expression hardened. The same old excuse. He knew she was being deceitful, but he was powerless to challenge her..
“Why was the first draft stolen?”
Nathaniel managed to maintain his composure. He was curious to see how far this woman would go. with her deception.
Freya smiled ruefully. “You can inspect the company laptop I used. I installed a micro camera near the power switch, a pinhole one. It’s small enough to be mistaken for another port.”
“I never anticipated that someone would exploit it. After all, I had signed the non–disclosure agreement. I was merely being cautious.”
“My greatest fear was that something like this might occur.”
Nathaniel’s gaze hardened as he let out a cynical laugh. “I recall you never had an interest in such things. Your laptop was solely for drawing, nothing more. When did you acquire these skills? Who taught you?”

She lifted her head to meet Nathaniel’s gaze. “Once biten, twice shy. I eventually wised up, you know.”
Nathaniel was taken aback. Freya’s words felt like a dagger to his heart.
He had previously used a pinhole camera on Killian, and Freya’s words stirred a sense of guilt within him. He chose to remain silent.
A soft knock on the car window interrupted their conversation, and Koen rolled down the window.
A young woman’s face appeared. She was undoubtedly youthful, but her attire aged her significantly. She was dressed in a pencil skirt, with a scarf draped around her neck.
She was tall and slender, resembling a flight attendant. Her makeup was minimal, and she wore a professional smile.
Two assistants trailed behind her, carrying some files.
