As Koen prepared to ask further, Frey hung up the phone.
He quickly called Taylor and the others, instructing them to send people to search for Nathaniel at roadside stalls and eateries. They had no idea how far the quarrel between Nathaniel and Frey would escalate, but it was evident that things were falling apart.
Frey sat in front of her laptop, feeling disoriented and unable to focus. She pushed the laptop away and lay down on the bed, trying to rest.
That night, she slept poorly, plagued by nightmares. After waking early, she prepared some noodles, and as she was eating, Mandy's call interrupted her.
Frey answered quickly.
“Ms. Frey, is now a good time to talk?”
Frey was taken aback. Mandy seemed to have something important to discuss.
“Yes, it’s fine. What’s up?”
“Ms. Frey, what happened between you and Mr. Nathaniel?”
Frey steadied herself. “It’s over. We broke up.”
Mandy’s voice dropped to a whisper. “There’s been a message from Technologent Group regarding the East Saeville design drawing. They’re demanding the version you provided. If it turns out it wasn’t designed by you, they’ll terminate their cooperation with Andala Corp.”
“And Andala Corp will have to pay three times the liquidated damages!”
