Since things had gotten out of hand, Jolin was forced to meet Barbara and her father–in–law. Apparently, she knew how to flatter which was why Barbara loved her so much. However, Jacob was completely unaware of everything. When Jacob brought Freya home. Jolin’s dream of marrying into a wealthy family was completely crushed. This only made Jolin resent Freya so much that she was tempted to murder her. Jolin held back her anger and forced a gentle smile as she grabbed Freya’s arm and said, “Oh my gosh, Freya, its been so long. You wouldn’t have forgotten me already, right? Come on now, let’s get you some new clothes. I mean, we used to do that all the time back then, right?”
Freya frowned and pulled her arm away as she did not want to offend Jolin.
Jolin was a little shocked by her reaction as she grabbed her hand and said, “Come on, Freya. It’s on the second floor and it’ll only take a moment.”
Freya was unwilling to go with her and before she could excuse herself, Barbara interjected, “Oh my. Ms. Gomez is quite arrogant. You know, Jolin is only willing to help you because she’s kind. Who do you think you are? Do you think the world revolves around you? Why don’t you get off your high horse. for once!”
It seemed that Barbara was already seething with rage the moment her son brought Freya home. She was furious because she did not want her son to humiliate himself in front of so many wealthy people. She did not expect Freya to cause so much trouble then. She thought to herself, Jolin meant well and I can’t believe she thinks Jolin is against her! What is wrong with her? Gosh!
“Mom!” exclaimed Jacob. He did not want to talk back to his mother since he still respected her as his. mother.
Freya chuckled and decided to follow Jolin upstairs since she realized there was no way she could escape the situation. Jacob could not follow them since they were heading to a women’s changing room. Besides, he could not leave his mother alone, so he was forced to make small talk with some business partners.
Apparently, he never had a good impression of Jolin. However, he thought nothing of the whole situation since they only drifted apart recently even though Jolin and Freya used to be good friends
back then.
Meanwhile, both Freya and Jolin arrived at the changing room upstairs. It was a fully furnished changing room with a small lounge area. Freya picked up some tissue and just as she was about to wipe the liquor clean, someone else entered the room. The intruder closed the door behind them, preventing Freya from escaping. Freya was shocked to find out that the intruder was Abigail. Abigail chuckled, “Greetings, Ms. Gomez.”
Seeing her made Freya nervous as she clenched her fists. She did not expect Abigail to follow her in. So, she looked away. Abigail sat on the couch before filling a cup with some boiling hot water as a menacing glint flashed across her eyes.
When Freya realized something was amiss, she approached the exit but she was stopped by Abigail. Abigail scoffed at Freya and said, “Gosh Freya, I didn‘ expect you to be this shameless, Jolin is about to marry Jacob and yet you’re here to snatch him away from her? How shameless are you, Freya? Do you really thirst for men that much?”
