Chapter 57 Dissent. 

Jacob found the situation odd, so he asked Freya, “Freya, this…” 

Freya chuckled as she found the situation ironic when everyone thought of her as a murderer. She also knew that Jacob was a little concerned about it, but he just chose to keep it to himself. Although Abigail had splashed hot water on her, no one was able to notice it since she was already scarred to begin with. Her trauma was a lot worse than what Abigail had inflicted on her. She chose to be silent because no one would believe her anyway. 

Barbara finally vented all of her pent up anger on Freya. “Just look at the video! Aren’t you ashamed of yourself? I wonder how my son was able to fall for a murderer to begin with. How much is enough for you to finally let go of my son?” 

“Yeah! I’ve never met anyone as shameless as her!” Everyone was gossiping about her. 

“Stop it. Look, Freya actually looked good in that video.” 

“Hehe. Just forget about it. She’s a violent murderer and I have no respect for her.” 

“Let’s go. I’ll send you home,” said Jacob while grabbing Freya’s hand. 

“Get back here, Jacob!” Jacob’s father was so furious that he grabbed Jacob’s arm. Everyone in his family was furious after watching that video. They felt like they had just been humiliated by it since Jacob had announced to everyone that Freya was his girlfriend earlier. “Get back here right now!” Jacob’s father yelled before ordering his bodyguards, Kick this woman out! I don’t want her anywhere near our house!” 

“Freya! Just hold on a second!” Jacob exclaimed as he tried to grab her arm. However, she was swarmed by the bodyguards. However, her mask was ripped off her face during the scuffle.Everyone was shocked to see her tattered face as soon as that happened She was in a complete mess and her broken state only made her seem like a monster. 

However, Freya did not hide because she was unable to and was thoroughly humiliated then. When she met Nathaniel’s gaze, she chuckled and said, “Gosh, I thought you were really good at taking revenge. Is this really all you got?” 

Somehow, that made Nathaniel panic as he tried to convince himself that Freya deserved it because she tried to get closer to Jacob and it would be impossible for her to be acknowledged by Jacob’s family. However, a part of him was still hurt by all of this. He was hurt because she was humiliated to such ant extent when she looked so beautiful when she arrived earlier. He felt chills when he watched her leave. 

Jacob could still be heard calling out to her when she left. Sounds of his family’s scuffle when they stopped him from going after her could be heard too. She did not hire a cab as she chose to walk beside the freeway. The breeze was cold at night as she shivered while she walked. Forget it, This is fine. I guess Jacob and I are even now. I mean, I don’t belong in their world anyway. Freya ignored the passing cars as she was lost in her mind. All she wanted was to be in over by a car because everything would be over when she finally perished. Her being labeled as a murderer would haunt her forever.
