The Primordial Record novel Chapter 1554

Inside that pillar of fire, the Magus responsible for it was on the verge of death; her bloodline powers could only hold this consumption for a brief moment before the last of it expired, and the pillar of flame vanished. Her soul was spent, and she had no higher-dimensional realm to call for support; still, the damage had been done.

A massive hole, millions of miles deep and a thousand miles in circumference, had been torn in the surface of the realm. At the bottom of it, glimpses of light from the sun below could be seen through the cracks. If the flaming pillar had not collapsed when it did, it would have melted a hole straight through to the sun.

Yet the ground was moments away from collapsing, and any heavy action made upon it would shatter it, but the figures of the Flame Guards kneeling or on their faces were not considering this matter.

Three of the ten Flame Guards that came for Andar were dead; they were fourth-dimensional Magus, but channeling all that power through their bodies had turned their bodies and souls to ash. The remaining six were stronger, all in the sixth-dimensional level, but they used all their recovery spells to regain fighting shape.

No one knew that the Flame Guard beside them had the power to control their armor, placing them in a situation where they had to battle for their lives. The biggest problem they faced in this capture was no longer their target but one of their number.

The silver sphere containing Andar's body was gone, vaporized into nothingness from that moment of incredible heat. Andar was dead; he was a sixth-dimensional immortal, but this flame had been enough to destroy him in his entirety. His entire foundation was burned to nothingness, and the Magus that had stood before the dawn of a new age was no more.

At least that was the thought in the minds of the six Flameguards who were rapidly healing from their injuries, even as they looked at the last standing headless armor with hate in their eyes. It was a mistake bringing her for this mission.

Her talents was what made her become the first Mage in history to don the Flame Armor at just the level of an Archmage, but she was clearly too young to be entrusted with this power, the sheer devastation she had wrought in a single moment was more than any of them could answer for, and the person that should have stood for her crimes was on the verge of death.

Her head, which had been cut off from her neck, was grinning; her soul had been shattered into pieces, but her talents made her flesh to be aware of itself, and the knowledge that she killed Andar, despite perishing herself, was enough to give her comfort.

The insides of her head were filled with dying thorns and insects as the plantlike nature of her constitution struggled to keep her alive, even if it was for one more second.

If she knew that killing him would feel so good, she should have used the power of the Flame Armor to kill him a hundred thousand years ago, when she first became a Flame Guard and had to watch her achievement be deemed as nothing before the glow surrounding Andar.

Darkness began to crowd her vision, and she welcomed death, but something made the last of her consciousness flicker because this darkness was not normal.

It had wings and eyes that shone silver, and the horror in her heart took shape as she watched this darkness slither into her armor, and Andar appeared within.

"No…. No…. No…. No!!!!!"

Clad in armor that should not have touched his skin, Andar raised his gauntleted hands and admired them. He glanced at the dying woman's head and nodded at her.
