Chapter 1627: Give Me Your Eye

Ximos was shocked when he saw the state of the blade. A sudden suspicion made him check the energy stores in his flesh, which were Essence and his Mental Space, Aetherium. He was shocked to discover that they were running low.

His Essence was burning faster than his Aetherium, but he could regenerate his Essence much more quickly than he could ever regain his Aetherium, and so Ximos was not too concerned with the expenditure as long as he was not in battle.

If he were to engage in any activity that required him to burn Essence, recovery would be almost impossible, given the nature of this space.

However, Zaphiel’s position was even worse than the Titan’s. His physique was weaker than the Titan’s, hence his resistance to this place’s strange devouring effect.

He was losing a lot of Essence and Aetherium at nearly three times as much as Ximos was losing, and as a Celestial Creator, he should have been connected to the Legions under his command, giving him a nearly infinite source of energy, but he was cut off from his Legion while inside this space.

Placing the weapon away to slow down its deterioration, Zaphiel turned to the Titan: "We cannot stay here for long; we need to move. Perhaps into one of these dimensions above. Something tells me that we cannot enter this Black Sea; it is death."

Ximos did not reply. His eyes were trained towards the Black Sea: "Something is watching us."

The Titan pointed towards a certain point in the darkness, and Zaphiel focused his perception on that spot, understanding that the eyes of a Titan were powerful. A faint glimpse of a presence inside the sea was opening up in his consciousness when his head exploded. His hand reached out weakly as if he was trying to grab his salvation, but his body suddenly lost all hint of life, and he fell into the black sea and evaporated into nothing.

Zaphiel, the Burning Heart, Celestial Creator, and a pillar of the Omicron Berserkers, was dead.

This wound was nothing for a Celestial Creator, but in this place where Reality had gone mad and an unknown entity was dwelling in the black sea, even Celestial Creators must guard their sight.

Ximos drew in a deep breath and flew higher. With his perception, he had detected a presence looking at them, and to test the waters, he showed Zaphiel the position where he had detected the presence. But never would he have expected that merely looking at it deeply would lead to death.

Cursing in anger, Ximos decided to follow the words of the fallen Celestial Creator and leave through one of the mirror dimensions above. However, a sound drew his attention, and he could not help but look below him. He saw a man standing on the surface of the Black Sea.

The man appeared desiccated, like a corpse left in the desert heat for a thousand years. His long red hair was sparse and clumped together, and his bony figure swayed upon the surface of the sea. However, this was not the strangest thing about this man; it was the fact that he resembled a one-dimensional paper cutout.

Ximos’ body shook as his very own essence screamed, and his body gained a life of its own,

"No one stands above the Creator!"

His body was dragged down to the surface of the black sea, and he was forced to his knees. An incredible amount of pain radiated through every part of him, and he would be screaming if he were able to.

"Descendant of the torch dragon... Interesting, give me one of your eyes."

Giving him an eye meant Ximos would have to dig into the foundation of his bloodline and uproot half of his being, but what choice did he have? fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
