“Hails!' Keith called as he entered the house.
“In the kitchen!" She answered. Her parents came back for a few seconds and they were off to another business trip. It wasn't the first time, but all she wanted was for them to doesn't quality time with them as a normal family did.
I guess that ain't happening soon. She thought to herself as Keith entered the kitchen with a handsome young man. He was 6'3ft tall, he had a broad chest and shoulders. He was a brunette and gid hair was messy as if it wasn't long ago he had a shower. He was built, but not too built like the gym addicts who were too muscular for her liking.
And when he smiled she felt her insides tickle.
“Hailey!" Keith called out startling her.
“What?" She asked as she checked to see if her mac and cheese was burning but Sunny had got it.
“Stop drooling over Lex!!" He raised his voice.
“What if I don't want to?" She found herself asking.
“Whatever." He puffed and walked towards his girlfriend.
“Hey," Lex spoke for the first time since he stepped in.
“Hello, so you're Keith's roommate?" She asked handing him a glass of juice.
“Yes, and best friend." He told.
“Keith, I thought I was your bestie?" She dramatically said.
“Oh, come on, you'd live a guy needs a male best friend," Keith answered as they laughed it out.
“Hi," Freya said as she entered Zed's coffee shop. She had helped him get some stuff for the shop and he got the rest from the savings he had. Freya had introduced him to some investors and they were happy to invest in his little business that had been his dream for a while now. He was still a part-time Uber driver, he drove on occasions when the shop wasn't too busy.
"Hey." Zed hugged her.
“How's work?" She asked as he served her hot chocolate with mushrooms floating at the top and a plate of chocolate muffins.
“It's going well, I've been able to hire three people to help me around this place." He smiled sitting before her.
“That's great to hear, I'm happy for you." Freya gushed.
“Thank you, you made it possible." He grinned.
“How is the collection coming up?" He queried.
“It's coming up very well, it would be released on Christmas, that's two days from now and by then my friend would be done with her wedding." She sipped her hot choco, moaning at its deliciousness.
“That's great, I'm happy for you." He grinned as Freya's heart skipped a beat-making her choke on her muffin.
“Are you okay?' Zed asked slapping her back as the piece of muffin fell to the floor.
“Water." She said in between coughs as Zed rushed to get her a glass.
Way to go, Freya, you almost died on your crush. She thought to herself as Zed gave her a glass of water.
“Ace I've been waiting for almost an hour, what's the hold-up?" Soraya angrily said through the phone.
“Take a chill pill, it'd not my fault I've been stuck in traffic you know?" He added nonchalantly.
"You what, urgh just be fast." She dropped the call sighing.
“Im trying not to regret letting Zed go, I am." He said to her self as she paced up and down checking the time every second.
I am having fun messing with Soraya, by the time I am done with her, she would have learnt a nice lesson. Ace said to himself as he initiated a curve and parked in front of her house. There was no traffic anywhere, he just wanted to get under her skin and he succeeded in doing so.
“Finally!" Soraya fumed as she entered the car. He snickered to himself as he drove off to the office.
Ace 1
Soraya 0
He thought as he happily drove on with an angry Soraya Wayne behind him.
“So, you would be going to college next year?" Lex asked Hailey. He was hanging out with her on the swings at the back of their house. Sunny and Keith were nowhere in sight and she knew they had set them up. She knew Sonny was behind this.
“Yeah, how I wish I was done already, High School is hell!" She burst out.
“Come in, you'd leave, but you're right high school is hell." He agreed as they burst into laughter.
“So how does it feel like being the sister to Soraya Wayne?" He brought up.
“It feels horrible, she's such a terrible person and my parents like and pampers her, they rarely care about us. At least they care a little about Keith, but for me, it's like I am non-existent in this house." She poured out.
“That's terrible, it's not fair how they treat you, you must all be treated the same." He consoled her.
