Soraya was having a great time in the Maldives, but she still had memories of Zed in her head. Brad was a gentleman alright, but he wasn't Zed. Zed was just a different man altogether. He gave his time, love and everything but she didn't appreciate it because she saw him as a poor man with nothing to offer.
WHY CAN'T I GET YOU OUT OF MY HEAD?! She inwardly exclaimed.
You're in love with him, Soraya that's why. Her conscience teased.
“I don't want to, he's poor and his crappy business cannot afford my expenses for just a week. Zed Velasquez get out of my head" She said banging her head on her pillow.
I will forget you, Zed Velazquez, no matter what it takes! She thought to herself.
“Oh, I'm sorry," Jess said abut walking away as the stranger pulled her back.
“Excuse You?" She said wondering if she knew him from somewhere.
“You're excused, here's my card call me sometime." He placed it in her palm and gave her a peck on the lips walking off and leaving Jess dumbfounded on the sidewalk.
What the heck was that? She wondered collecting herself.
“Who was he?" She asked herself walking off to the bus station to pick a bus to class.
Dr Miguel
Surgeon
Hackensack University Medical Center
She read the card and placed it in her purse.
“Hails, can I talk to you?" Meg asked her daughter as she descended the stairs.
“Its Hailey mom and what do you want from me?' She sighed.
“I just want to talk Hailey." She said as Hailey sat before her.
“What is it?" She sighed.
“I know I haven't been the best mom to you and Keith, but I am sorry. I know we pampered Soraya more and barely had time for you guys. I'm sorry I wasn't around to hear about your first day at daycare, elementary school, middle school and even high school. I hope you find it in your heart to forgive me." Meg apologised.
“It doesn't take one day to forgive, and you have to earn our forgiveness as well. Do you know how we craved for you and Dad's attention? But instead, it all went to the golden child Soraya." Hailey poured out.
“I am sorry Hailey, I am." She apologised again and again.
“It's fine, but as I said earlier forgiveness has to be earned, if you wouldn't mind I need to get some food to eat." She added walking to the kitchen to make breakfast.
Jess couldn't seem to get Dr Miguel off her mind throughout the day. She was intrigued by him. Her mind wandered off during the last lesson for the day.
How could he just give a peck to a stranger? She thought to herself.
“Why am I thinking about him anyways?" She asked herself as she walked out of the class.
“Jess! Wait up!" A guy called behind her.
“Oh hi, Aaron." She said smirking at him.
“Hi, you seemed lost in class are you okay?" He asked concerned.
“I am good, just a little stressed out, nothing more." She answered.
“Want to go get some ice cream? It can help calm your nerves down." He inquired.
“Well, it sounds like a good idea...lead the way then." She told him.
“Nichole?" Jesse called as he joined her in the backyard.
“What's up?" She responded not looking him in the face.
“Just decided to take a stroll outside since the weather is fine and I saw you seated here." He explained.
