Evelyn did not expect things to end up in this state.
Lily showed Evelyn her phone and said, "Ms. Moore posted on Instagram this morning that it's her mother's birthday today. Mr. Grant even booked out the entire resort to hold a party for her. How could he even remember your mother's death anniversary?"
Evelyn felt extremely disappointed.
She looked at the photos Tiffany posted. One was the view of the resort where the party had set up. The other photo was of a set of emerald jewelry.
Evelyn recognized the jewelry right away. It was what Lucas bought with seven million dollars the last time Justine bumped into him and Tiffany at the jewelry store.
It turned out that it was a present for Millie.
It was no wonder Lucas did not give Evelyn an answer after she contacted Michael. It was because he had already made his choice since the very beginning, was it not?
"This will be the grandest and liveliest birthday party my mom ever has. I have to thank a person for this… Everybody can look forward to the firework show tonight," Tiffany wrote in her post.
The person she was referring to could not be any clearer.
Evelyn's gaze changed, and a sneer appeared on her calm face.
Today was undoubtedly not Millie's birthday at all.
Naomi and Millie had been tight back then. Naomi had celebrated Millie's birthday on many occasions. She even took a photo with Millie and wrote the date on it to commemorate the day. Evelyn had seen that photo before when she was arranging the things her mother left behind.
Millie's birthday should be next month, yet she deliberately picked that day when they were mourning Naomi and preparing her death anniversary to light fireworks to celebrate. What was she playing at?
Lily finally felt satisfied after she saw that Evelyn's expression was extremely icy. She finally won this time.
"I'm just being kind and telling you the truth so you're not so clueless about it. Mr. Grant is definitely keeping Ms. Moore company," Lily mocked and put her phone away.
Evelyn said nothing. Her emotions rushed in like crashing waves, and she got caught up in how ridiculous the whole situation was.
"Enough, Lily." Blake looked over, warning her with his gaze.
