Chapter 149
Originally, that group of people had been enthusiastically greeting Lucas as they walked him inside.
As they walked, they complimented, “Mr. Grant, you and Ms. Moore are truly a perfect match. It’s an honor for Silux to have both of you here.”
“Mr. Grant, Ms. Moore, please follow me this way–your seats have been arranged.”
Evelyn spoke unexpectedly, interrupting their words. As a result, several pairs of eyes turned toward her.
These were all seasoned veterans of high society. They gave Evelyn a once–over, but didn’t recall any information about her. As such, someone asked, “You’re Miss
Evelyn looked quietly at Locas, but still answered them, “I’m Evelyn Reed from the Flying Seal Group.”
The executives came to a realization. “Oh, Flying Seal Group. But, Ms. Reed, are you familiar with Mr. Grant?”
If they weren’t familiar with each other, why would she call him by his name and ask to speak with him?
Bluntly put, Lucas was the highest–profile guest present at today’s event. Even if Evelyn was from the Flying Seal Group, she wasn’t on the same level as him. She
so wasn’t on the same level as Sebastian. Was she ignorant, or were they personally acquainted?
Evelyn didn’t respond this time.
How could she possibly answer a question like that? Should she say they were husband and wife? Lucas might not spare her pride.
Tiffany’s gentle face showed little expression, she merely smiled ambiguously. She raised her head to look at Lucas, whose thoughts were unreadable, and let go of bisam. “I’ll head inside and wait for you, Lucas.”
She was poised, generous, and composed,
Star had no interest in fighting Evelyn
Evelyn had deliberately approached Lucas in public today to assert some kind of connection. Though Tiffany disliked it, she found it beneath her to make an issue
of it.
Lucas wasn’t a man Evelyn could control–she understood that.
Evelyn didn’t look at Tiffany. Her demeanor was indifferent. However, Lucas‘ gaze landed on Tiffany’s face as he replied mildly, “There’s no need to do so. I’ll follow you inside.”
With that, he slowly turned to Evelyn. His gaze was calon and detached. “Sorry, I don’t have time right now.”
Evelyn was, Indeed, surprised.
He had actually rejected her without besitation.
She had never greeted him in public before, let alone so clearly stated that she needed to speak with him. With Lucas‘ sharp mind, he couldn’t possibly fail to guess that she truly had something important to say.
Yet, he wasn’t even willing to space her a moment or spare her pride. Was it simply because Tittany was present, and he didn’t want to neglect her?
Ever, though Tiffany looked normal, there was still a hint of sweetness in her eyes after Lucas rejected Evelyn.
She gently placed her slender and back on Lucas amas though the two were inseparable, “Then let’s head inside.”
She hadn’t looked at Evelyn even once as if Evelyn were invisible.
