Brandon peered inside through the doorway. He had come to discuss getting something approved with Donald and hadn't expected to run into this situation. Frankly, he found it hard to understand.
Evelyn's expertise truly couldn't compare to that of Tiffany, a PhD graduate from one of the world's top-ranked universities.
How could she be so confident as to face Donald and veto the decision to have Tiffany join the team?
Had Evelyn been willing to acknowledge Tiffany's abilities objectively, he would have held her in higher regard. But instead, this woman, mired in petty jealousy and squabbles over men, was far from rational.
The key was that Lucas was Tiffany's boyfriend. And now, having failed in her schemes three times, Evelyn had the nerve to target Tiffany, the legitimate girlfriend.
The door opened, and Evelyn and Sebastian walked out one after the other. They immediately encountered Brandon.
Sebastian put on a professional smile. "Mr. Connor, are you here to see Mr. Stewart?"
Noticing that Evelyn was about to pass by his side, Brandon quickly stepped aside as if he feared any contact with her. "Yes. I'll head in first."
"Alright, Mr. Connor. Carry on."
Evelyn noticed Brandon's small maneuver. She cast him a cool glance but remained as calm as ever, not letting the incident trouble her.
Lucas was smart. He had seen how both she and Sebastian treated Tiffany. Instead of wasting time discussing the matter with them, he went straight to Donald. He was determined to clear the path for Tiffany.
If Donald planned to work favors into the deal, they would have to take that into account.
Fortunately, their project was funded by their own money, so they weren't constrained by external pressures.
…
Back at Flying Seal Group, Evelyn turned her thoughts to the house. She had already put it on the market.
With its prime location and impeccable amenities, the property was top-tier and would sell without a hitch. Even so, she still called Michael, and the call was quickly connected.
